Start by defining what personal art is. Considering you said "again," you might already have a sense of what that means. Also, question your idea of "there" and "yet" when you say you're not "there yet." Maybe you don’t need to get there in order to create something personal—maybe you never will. Maybe you’re already "there." These limitations you’ve created might hold some truth, but that doesn’t mean you can’t create something valuable. It all depends on the end goal. If it’s just artistic performance through drawing technique, then yes, that might require some skill. But if you want to tell stories, a clear visual language is good enough. Define a small, manageable short-term goal—so simple you can’t miss. If it still frightens you, make it even smaller. Like a stick figure. It might look insufficient from your critical view, but that’s how big things begin: with small steps. I hope that helps!

Can I get some advice about how to deal with creating personal art again? I feel like I’m constantly stuck in a study zone with anatomy and I never end up drawing for myself bc I never feel like I’m “there yet” to make personal work and I’ve been at it for years and I feel like it’s hindering me
