Encore une performance magistrale! Je ne m'attendais pas du tout à voir la barque arriver vide. Doit-on en comprendre que c'est le Capitaine Padley lui-même qui était présent lors de la séance? Pour aller dans le même sens que d'autres commentaires, ce scénario est tellement riche qu'il aurait pu facilement faire un film entier de deux heures. Si cette vidéo était présentée dans une compétition de courts métrages, elle gagnerait vraisemblablement des prix. Longue vie et continuez votre excellent travail! 😊

Thank you Amanda! The ship graveyard is a real place! But it was a bit difficult to film there because the wrecks are much more recent than you'd think (most of them date from the 1940s/50s/60s) and there's a lot of graffiti... So I had to carefully choose the framing ! 😄 And about the paper: a simple trick here, I rubbed the islands parts with a piece of rapeseed candle :)

Madame Dumais gave some scary looks, especially when she wanted to make a point. From a personal perspective I could never tell if she was joking or not. That added to her character mystery and depth. She always reminded me of a teacher I once had who demonstrated a similar look. She was a good teacher but could be scary in that way as well. 😊xx

Yes I had a bit of trouble with the storyboard for my intro and I'm prepared to read a few comments from people who thought the character was about to.... jump ^^' I've never seen Madame Dumais as creepy but... why not? 😄 Anyway, thanks for your support, and I don't think I'm being particularly hard on myself, I just recognise the disappointment when it's there, as well as the joy when I manage to achieve what I had in mind, which fortunately happens often enough! :) (and I'm always happy to get constructive criticism, so never hesitate!)

Indeed. Do not be hard on yourself Diane. You are a very talented and inspirational person. I adore your videos and always look forward to them. I loved the Celtic style effect at the beginning and thought for a moment you were going to be pushed over the cliff thus setting the scene as you yourself being the spirit. I disagree about you having not done anything creepy or scary. Madame Dumais was deliciously Machiavellian. Your facial expressions at many points were superb here too, especially near the end when spying the rowing boat. That was genius. It is always difficult when you know what you want in a creation but can't quite get the effect you are looking for. This is not a criticism from me, just a reaction to what you yourself said in the intro. As I said earlier. You are an amazing creator. 💖

Thank you so much Elizabeth! Yes, I live in a beautiful area of France with many different landscapes (Bretagne / Brittany). I live near a forest, but my grandmother's house, which is still in the family, is a little further away, near beautiful cliffs and beaches, so I go there regularly :) And yes, all my sets are built in my studio (except a very few ones like those with a real fireplace).

So many feelings!! This transported me immediately ….such attention to each detail! The fire, candles blowing, and glowing brighter..the pen sounds on paper….teacup ….pouring and stirring…your whispers. The cliffs and ocean…so many vibes! Yes, some spooky elements but not scary which is perfect. The empty dingy, and the look on your face, both fearful and hopeful at the same time was stunningly brilliant!!! Of course, like all your videos, I don’t want them to end, but each time it leaves me hoping for a sequel! I guess I just like closure lol! You never disappoint Diane. Every video has something for someone, so there isn’t a single one that I can say didn’t satisfy! You tend to water down your talent of writing, but sometimes the best part about a writer is that they give just enough information to allow the reader, or in this case, the viewer, to make up or fill in their own plot. And that takes extreme imagination and creativity, so own it! I’ll be watching this one a number of times for sure! Bravo!!

Yes, it's just a sort of soundscape/ambience as a transition to sleep for the viewer, I often add this at the end of roleplays 🙂 (submarine at the end of a steampunk RP, horses after a medieval RP etc...). Although there is one short scene showing the characters getting into the dinghy first. Thank you !

Beautiful video once again. Around 28:38 the background sound disappears for a second or so. I assume the black screens for a few seconds at 32:22 and at the end are deliberate? The transitions are a bit abrupt. Especially the one at 32:37.

Absolument parfait, comme d'habitude ! Personnellement je n'ai rien remarqué d'anormal, c'est toujours un tel plaisir de voir une de vos vidéos (les nouvelles comme les anciennes) ! Comme les autres commentaires le disent, vous êtes peut-être trop dure avec vous-même (mais j'imagine que c'est cette exigence qui fait la grande qualité de votre travail ! Et puis nous autres spectateurs ne voyons que le travail fini, nous ne mesurons pas les efforts et les attentes qui sont derrière !) En tout cas c'est délicieusement inquiétant, juste ce qu'il faut - je vais la finir ce soir en me couchant, j'espère arriver à m'endormir 😉 Merci infiniment !
