For season 5 please use ICRPG; Shadow of the Weird Wizard; Cypher System; Fantasy Age; or something else that is quick and intuitive. Next instead of the typical "resources" ask some youtubers to make random tables for you... that you will compile at the end of the season! Professor DM, Arcane Library, Rune Hammer, Seth Skorkowsky, Scotty DM, and Bob World Builder are all great at this!

That's a good point. She would still need to get back to the portal, and racing the clock, plus obstacles on the way, would still make for an interesting conclusion.

Well, I would speculate there could be some struggle from the lich even if he said it was fully in her hands. And then beyond that, there's the ticking clock in the background of that portal closing. I imagine some things could come up which would make that final leg of the journey urgent and interesting.

SPOILER ALERT! DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE EPISODE. Took me a bit of time to get to this episode, but wow! You never disappoint! If the dice had Vail be cynical and put the lich back to sleep, would that have ended the season? Her mission would have been successful and done. so I'm thinking yes.
