Holy cow, the early release video is late! It's coming right up, just finished it today. The reason it took me so long is because I had to learn a bunch about the ins and outs of 3D printing and getting crispy detail. I learned about manually placing supports, dialing in your exposure times, what types of resin print miniatures best, and more! When I went to write the script for this week's video, it turned out I had enough content to make 2 whole videos. It made sense too, because they were entirely different topics. One was more painting focused, and the other more 3D printing focused. Anyways, here's how my 3D printed miniature paint job came out.
I had a lot of fun messing around with the color green; seeing how far I could stretch it. Every element of my paint scheme has some shade of green it in somewhere. I've always heard about monochromatic paint schemes, and while this isn't a true monochromatic paint scheme, it was still fun to give it a shot and put my spin on it. On the topic of getting crispy 3D prints....
I was able to print this model at 60% size and get really nice detail still! This success, and the research I have done, really have given me a feeling of agency over my 3D prints, so I started supporting and printing other styles of minis to see what kinds of results I can get with them! This is what I'm currently printing right now (I think the vampire didn't stick to the build plate sadly)

I think you should try using prusha slicer and auto orientation + auto supports set at about 75%. I have had wonderful results with it. If you are using chitubox changing the support to connect with a ball can also result in a cleaner model with less dimples from the supports.
Cool!! They just did a Kickstarter last year that raised over $2.5mil with 11k+ backers. The product line has both metal and plastic minis, but the new plastics are what’s bringing in so many new people. Hell man, I’ll send you the ‘Mech if you pick one. Love the channel!!!

Hey Scott! How about a video with you painting a BattleTech mini? Probably not much of a challenge for you, but it’s something different. There’s TONS of people in that genre that are looking for pairing tips and it could, potentially, swell the ranks of your followers.
I'm not sure what this means exactly. Do you mean printing the mini directly on the FEP?
One thing to look into (I am new to resin printing myself) is angling the prints instead of vertical on rafts. It lessens number of supports needed, makes certain geometries simpler to print, and easier to remove from FEP. There is supposedly a chart of layer thickness versus angle of incline but I haven't found it yet. When I do I will post it or a link to it.

I just got mine yesterday. I thought it was going to be a huge hassle and take weeks of tweaking before I got a print I was happy with. But damn, this things been working since 6pm yesterday and has turned out 3 solid prints with pretty amazing details. Ive just been auto supporting on Prusa, Slicing in Chitubox and validating in Photon Validator. It takes 15 minutes tops. I was so worried that it was going to take forever to remove supports and have damage all over my mini. My first step after print is done is a dunk of heated SimpleGreen/Water and the supports just snap off with almost no damage. I think I'm even more addicted to plastic/resin now.
Unfortunately I do not, I only have the anycubic. I've had offers for more reviews of printers, but I've turned them down to avoid my channel becoming 3D printing centric. I'm sure there's a lot of good info on YouTube!
