I mean, it's less about the social tax on *Vivi,* which is nontrivial but wouldn't stop her in an emergency, and more that ... uh, Embralyne is a bit hard to deal with, and will be even more so when wounded and vulnerable. Vivi isn't sure of the princess' personality; in particular she's not sure *Embralyne* would be willing or able to 'suck it up' and talk to *Vivi*, and if she isn't, Vivi is quite sure that *she* won't be able to smooth things over. It's precisely because it's an emergency that she'd rather leave the important-but-delicate conversation to someone who's actually good at it. Now, personally, my read on Embralyne is that she actually *does* have enough of a sense of duty to go through with a possibly-unpleasant conversation when it's this important, that her responsibility would outweigh her pride in this instance; but part of having bad social skills is that you can't accurately assess when a conversation is safe, in either direction. Vivi is playing it safe, again precisely because it's important.

Ah character development. Vivi finally knows her reputation and her common sense casually breaks people, so instead of addressing those issues and be more considerate, she instead shuffles them all onto his overworked secretary. Baby steps.
