Product Prototypes and Periods

A couple of weeks ago, we turned the workshop into a proper (alas very crammed) studio and filmed two projects for Kotex: a period machine and a cramp machine. I'm really proud of how they came out. Combining shitty robots with sex ed may not sound like a great match, but it was.
Can I show you something that you pinky-internet-promise will keep a secret? Since you can't actually answer that question, I'm just going to assume that it's a yes.
First of all: after asking some very trusted advisors (AKA you) I've decided that the name of my product brand is YETCH, or YETCH store. I'm feeling really good about it. It's unique and weird and funny for people who know the backstory, but not overly silly. And I know it sounds a little bit like a cat throwing up a hairball, but also: good for you, cat. You purge that hairball.
Second of all:
Ok I'm just realizing that it'll seem like I'm about to tell you that I'm engaged. I'm not. But I am very much in love with these two ring prototypes that we're working on. It's an (occasionally useful) screwdriver ring, and a companion screw ring. I'm so excited to start selling these. We're still figuring out how to machine the screw ring, so for now I'm just wearing this wonky 3D printed version.
OTHER THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED
- Scraps found a dead cat in the park and immediately sat down to pee on it. She hates cats. I hope that peeing on that carcass was the revenge that she's been seeking, and that now she can start her healing process.
- I posted a new video this morning where I show 7 random house projects that I've built.
- I'm getting an electric bike/cafe racer this week. I AM SO FUCKING STOKED. And before you get worried: it's technically just a bike, I can't ride on freeways with it or anything, but I'm scheduled to get my motorcycle license in July anyway as a precaution.
LOOK AT THAT THING! SCRAPS AND I ARE GOING TO LOOK SO COOL RIDING IT TO THE DOG PARK. At least I hope it'll help win back the coolness points that I lost from this photo:

I don't know if you read my comment in Swedish, but it does come from the heart, I do find your creativity and your skills in practical project solving inspiring beyond my current vocabulary. That is why I support and belive in you. That is why I want to see you succeed at beeing yourself and making a living out of it, a free-ish style of living I wish I too had the focus and perseverence to build and maintain for myself, alas, ADHD torpedoed that dream before the condition was even medically identified and categorized globally as an NPD... Just watched the "7 uninteresting projects" video. What I loved the most about it was how much it showed off who you are. I feel like so much of what we see online is people's "best" or just their online persona; but you clearly find creative, fun, practical solutions to so many things - even as mundane as a toilet paper holder - that you're not even planning to show off. That ingenuity & humility is why I love being a patron. Keep up the great work. (And if your humility is secretly also part of your finely crafted "persona", well, you got me, lol)

First - I watched the Kotex videos, and laughed til I bled…. Which reminds me, I need to move my tool box away from my computer…. Second - I would so buy a matched/“mated” pair of rings for the wife and I, so please make sure the smaller women’s sizes are included. I love the small parts holders from the copper end caps. That is a wonderful idea I’ve never seen before. Your toilet paper shelf makes me wish I had a cnc.

Simone! In your video you seem like you're being so hard on yourself. Omg I love everything you showed. These builds are so useful! Also I love the bathroom design theme? Seriously, the plant stand and everything. These things are so so helpful; especially for someone that lives in a tiny space like me. Good choice to call the shop "Yetch". Appropriate branding and catchy name. I'm curious about the logo (or any news about it) ?! The videos from the collaboration with Kotex are really good. It is important to deal calmly with the processes of the human body and to impart knowledge about them in an entertaining way.

I see what you're saying! I haven't really been thinking about the rings as gendered, but definitely something for me to keep in mind. Looking at them, I actually think screw ring skews a bit more masculine signet ring, and the screwdriver reads like a more femme gemstone.

That's a cool looking bike! You could machine jigs to clamp and hold the screw rings while you mill the file details, but I could see that getting really expensive/complicated.
