Races of Felwroth 1 - June 15th
🕑 Added 2017-06-15 20:01:39 +0000 UTC I've been wanting to compile a race list for the world of Felwroth for ages now. A sort of cultural cross-section of male and female heights, clothing, etc. I surprised myself by just how many different peoples I have on this world that started as a game world decades ago and slowly accumulated various races and cultures since that time.This is a basic start in a series of art projects I'll be doing in my spare time over the next while that outlines parts of the world. There will probably be a few more male charts of the more common people of the world, then a few of the female charts after that. I plan on drawing up buildings and artifacts of the various people, some of the creatures that inhabit the world, and even some of the stranger places if there is time.
I've hit a point where I'm starting to forget some of the piles of information that I have in my head about the place. Some of the sticky notes have fallen off the walls of my imagination and some of the people have started to fade. Many 'player races' from folks I've gamed with have been integrated or in a few cases removed to make the world a bit more cohesive and less 'kitchen sink'.
I want to get these chronicles recorded before I forget anything else, and it will be a really good way for me to compile things a bit better when I need them.
Much of the work will be rough sketches, with some (like the races for example) getting cleaned up and given a colour pass. Others will be inked in and left in black and white. And when I reach a point where I feel there is enough 'stuff' that I can compile into a volume, I'll make a pdf that will be posted to you all for free.
Much more sketching to come. Its daunting, but a little exciting as well to finally be getting some of the 'world' in my head down in a focused project.

There is a great deal of flogging the brain to dredge up details of games I played with people I don't even know anymore. In some cases people no longer with us. Looking at thirty to forty year old notes and trying to decipher them. Sadly I have not kept good notes about past games. Gladly the details of the world do stick and I have background in spades. I don't know if I can win this game of recording. I'm giving it my best try. Hey, it keeps me off the streets. I hate the commenting system here. It sucks when you can't paragraph. (Cut and paste, I cheat.

Its like a mad scramble sometimes, isn't it? I went back through some ancient notes I had on the world before it really had its 'name' and it was fragmented and interesting.. but I don't remember so much of it. I don't even have maps of much of it (something you do have, from what I recall!)

I'm in the same project. 40 years of my game world banging around my head and I'm realizing that whole chunks are gone. However, it is done with much less art skill.

They're on the way! I have another sheet or two of male comparisons, then I start sketching away on the women. Probably a good six sheets in total.
