LET’S WATCH: Invincible S3 E5 - "This Was Supposed to Be Easy"

This episode was FUCKING SICK, but at the same time, a little off. Did you guys feel the same way? There were definitely some killer moments, but also some shit that just wasn't it.
First off, Multi-Paul’s escape attempt!!! That was dope as hell. 1000% the highlight of the episode for me... except every time Eve was on screen. lol. I never even thought about him using his powers like that, and it actually made him feel like more than just another throwaway villain. Then you got Mark and Eve’s morning-after awkwardness, which was absolutely hysterical, and seeing Oliver and Mark bond like actual brothers? That was a nice touch. Plus now we know that Mark and Ever are FUCKINNNNNGGGGGG.
But the rest of the episode? Kinda all over the damn place. I swear, at this point, Mark is just getting his ass handed to him by every villain that pops up. Like DUDE! YOU'RE A FUCKING VILTROMITE!!!! Weren’t you supposed to be the strongest dude on Earth? Made me miss evil Mark, because he seemed a bit more capable. The dragon sneaks up on him multiple times—excuse me, you have fucking super speed, my guy, how the hell are you not dodging that? But then later, he’s using that same super speed to clean the house so fast that Deborah doesn’t even notice? Make it make sense. I dunno, maybe they’ll fix this later, but right now, it’s kinda frustrating. But not so frustrating that I'm not EXTREMELY SATISFIED!!!

Mark is super conscious about collateral, everything that happened in chicago still plays on his psyche. Mark is too strong for his own good. If you think about the situations he’s been in, If he goes all out someone is going to get hurt and i’m not just talking about his opponent. if you really watch his fights now he’s gauging his opponents (for better or worse) to determine how much force to use. sometimes he underestimates which is putting himself in very vulnerable positions but he’s still learning. Gotta respect that.

I think of it like this with mark and his powers, he’s technically still kind of a newbie with his powers considering how long the other viltrumites have been alive and have been through enough training and fights. We’re basically watching mark learn to grow with his powers and it’s awesome!!

Also, Alex, I noticed you've started pausing to say things, likely due to you being criticized for talking over important dialogue. Listen man, I really get it, but at some point you're gonna have to learn how TV shows and movies are structured so you can anticipate the moments they will have characters speaking versus when there won't be any dialogue. There's story queues and shots that give this information. Try talking during the action more and keep eyes peeled for the queues that the scene is shifting to dialogue. Like, after a big action sequence, if it pauses to show a landscape or a wide shot of the aftermath, it's going to cut immediately to dialogue. So time what you wanna say for that wide shot, before it cuts away. This kinda stuff will really help, and keep you from needing to pause.
