I would like more bonuses and more comics, personally.

ThunderRazor

I really miss the podcast with Evan and Noah. I'd really like something similar. I'm not saying you have to get those guys in front of the camera again, but if they'd be willing to it would immediately be my #1 podcast. I also like any game discussion videos. My favorites are unknown facts, deep dives into game design, and back story videos.

I think editorial reviews of both new games, and retro classics that hit the Eshop would be really cool! Maybe with occasional indie gems too. I know that those can take a bit more planning and expense than let's plays but the reviews and recommendations for things I would've totally overlooked otherwise are one of my favorite parts of the magazine.

Like GameCube demos? I don't ever remember seeing those.

I'd love to hear some discussion videos from you all

Do you have a contact email?

PigDan

Wow, it looks like you already got another $1,000+ goal! Bigger posters...neat! I would like a digital wallpaper for my computer just for getting the print subscription though. :)

PigDan

Great idea, I like this!

It still seems like Nintendo won't allow us to talk online with strangers. As such I'd love to have a place to make 'friends' to play online Nintendo with. Maybe create a forum for subscribers to meet in & get to know other Nintendo fans. I'd like to add a profile with information about types of games you like to play, whether you skip cut scenes or love the lore (especially important for co-op), location in the world, times of day you tend to play, etc.. As well as having a place to set up Nintendo Force tournaments for Splatoon 2, MK8D, & other online multiplayer games. It'd also be nice to have a place to dicsuss the magazine articles in depth.

Nintendo Power used to include discs for demos of games, perhaps (but not likely possible) this could be a good direction to pursue? Otherwise, you could put the video content onto discs as well, or even special video content that is only available through the magazine

More oddball pack-ins! Napkin holders and pocket towels, whatever fun and interesting doohickeys you can find good suppliers for.

More posters 😉

Joseph Stanichar

In short term, I'd love it if you could do video coverage of the Switch if you get it early!

Just as long as the magazine doesn't have content and extra items that suffer because video creation becomes a higher priority, I don't have an issue with this. Keep up the great work, been super happy with the magazine so far.

fine with this. I think maybe you guys should have a long live stream for the next goal and play games like splatoon mario kart ect with fans. Also more giveaways are nice and more options for us too get involved in the magazine like a stories section or somthing . Also maybe a fangame section That be fun or showing off a epic new mario maker level

I actually have a future goal I would like to see put into motion if you guys can. Recently I sent you guys an image of what NP used to do back in their very early days when they did a TOP 20 for NES , GAME BOY & SNES I guess letting people know which games were the most popular to least popular with a points ranking system for each game on the 2 consoles and the 1 portable at the time. And the goal I think you guys should shoot for should be maybe having monthly online tournaments via YouTube for whatever game you think is necessary for patreons and NF subscribers having the chance to win any free game of choice. Not the best suggestion I had recently, but imo, I think it's decent enough. I'm sure others here would probably agree with me on this here.

A suggestion I have for a future goal would be print compilations of the magazine's comics, I'd up my pledge to see your guys' comics reprinted in a compilation like Nintendo Power's old comics are right now by VIZ.

another YouTube suggestion: Host and participate in private lobbies for games such as "Super Bomberman R", "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe", and "Splatoon 2". Invite patrons, and upload the footage. Also, though NF Magazine has very rarely included advertisements, monetize your YouTube videos with those pop-up banner ads. That'll be more funds for the NF crew and more funds to improve the magazine. Thanks for listening!

For me, I was a huge fan of Johnathan Holmes vid's on Destructoid. Creative, and funny. Giving those more of a Nintendo bent, more so that the one he did with Sagat and Samus, would be an interesting idea. I get plenty of info from your magazine, so seeing you all play a bit with video and do something different woudl be awesome. As for what to do for future goals, any chance of stickers, or maybe a once a year big item like a unique keychain? Another idea is maybe add a smaller magazine to the big magazine that is like a retro magazine for old school games, especially niche ones lots of people would not of heard of like Paladins Quest and Tecmo's Secret of the Stars, and a personal favorite, The Twisted Tales of Spike McFang.

Was it me who posted about it =D

I want a disxord

How about for extra goal prizes (maybe for the 12k or even 14k) - custom box arts? For the 3DS or even the lovely Switch boxes (once dimensions for the boxes have been confirmed)? Just a slip we can switch with the official ones. After all, not all of us have fancy printers to make our own.

A general "News Review" video would be neat. Taking a bunch of big Nintendo news stories and making them bite-size, while making us eager for the next magazine.

Oh I DEFINITELY agree with Max. I don't want you to go away again so keeping yourselves solvent is a good thing in my book

PigDan

Digital extras, and demo download codes from indie developers (unfortunately the Wii U is dead now so no CDs) would be cool!

PigDan

Hey, that's a good idea! Lucas, you should do this, Eddie here has an interesting idea! :)

PigDan

To add: I like the layout, and I'm with everyone in agreeing that Let's Play videos would be great, and more posters would be terrific. :)

PigDan

I'm going to repeat what I said in a PM to NF to everyone in the comment section, see if anyone likes these ideas: Similar to UK Published Gaming Magazine Retro Gamer does with their magazine each month (youtube.com/channel/UCSffYGb0j4CP..), you could display the incoming magazine in a sort of short "creator commentary" video. Sort of like a preview, and gives the patrons a special inside look at how you make each feature in NF Magazine. You could even dive into how you investigate a new game, and most importantly, what the magazine will have to offer for that particular issue. I feel like this would create a more personal connection to your reader base, which could increase your number of patrons to your awesome magazine, and make readers even more excited for each upcoming issue...and they'll spread the word to every gamer they know! :) Another idea I think would be interesting would be to show how the artists in NF Magazine make the comics, or art pieces. Like a short clip showing the staff and artists making each poster, and using their digital art/editing software. I'm a big fan of Matthew Taranto's work in particular, and I would like to have the chance of seeing him create his NF comic strips. This would be really neat and I'm sure some other supporters would think this would cool to witness. (Oh yeah, MORE GIVEWAYS. That would be amazing.)

And more contest/giveaways is always welcome!

I've been into the "Did you know gaming" videos lately. I really like behind the scenes pieces that I feel we don't often get to see. So maybe videos around the history of certain projects, teams, developers, games, etc. something along those lines?

Max Smith

Extra Physical Items can get very complicated very quickly. I'd actually prefer to make sure that you guys are paying yourselves a LIVING WAGE from this project. Too often Patreon folks send out more and more stuff while neglecting to pay their expenses. After that - maybe use this as a war chest to get some more contributors (Jeremy Parish & Chris Kohler Cough Cough)? I'd also like to second the eShop Lets Plays. Everybody and their sister is going to have Breath of the Wild Coverage. Who is covering Redout or Has-Been Heroes? Having Video Reviews of everything hitting the eShop would also be awesome.

Future Goals? Maybe mail gifts to patrons in December such as NF shirts, NF hats, or NF poker cards? Maybe leap to 8 issues per year, then 10, and finally a full 12 annually? Maybe have certain NF crew members travel to a gaming convention, host a panel, and set up a meet-and-greet with patrons?

If Patreon doesn't allow creators to adjust costs, then perhaps it's time to drop Patreon? A replacement 12K goal can be a surprise 7th issue annually. If that's asking too much, then maybe simply adding half a dozen pages of content to each issue? Maybe more original comic strips? Maybe a mini strategy guide? Given that Switch is region-free, maybe expand coverage to Japanese games worth importing?

Upload videos focusing on the expertise of any given NF crew member: videos of Lindsey Layne King showing her art and talking about her methods, videos of Brett Martin showcasing his collection and revealing where he bought things and how much they cost.

Regarding YouTube videos, perhaps upload some 2nd opinion video reviews to complement the written reviews of NF Magazine? Perhaps make video announcements of contest giveaway prizes and video announcements of winners thereafter? Maybe talk about Nintendo-related events that aren't discussed in the magazine, such as "I watched EVO 2017, and here's what I think." Kevin Cassidy of GoNintendo already uploads excellent Talking Points videos, but if the NF crew can organize round table discussions, that'll be interesting.

Really excited to see the direction that videos will take! I know you said that you don't necessarily want to copy what other creators are doing, but I'm a fan of the UK's "Playstation Access" YouTube content. Concise and informative lists, let's plays, discussions on upcoming games, etc. Worth a look. Thanks for the update!

I really love the video layout you guys have for Breath of the Wild. For video ideas, I wouldn't mind seeing some gaming discussion videos; you could cover new releases, anticipated upcoming releases, or more some more specific topics from various times (e.g., divisive games). Beyond the videos, more contests/giveaways are always nice.

Quick feedback on the stream layout: it looks great! The main thing I would suggest is removing the paint swatches (or whatever term is correct here) from the lower left and upper right corners. It's covering the game (one of the main reasons they will be watching you) for no real discernible reason outside of it looking nice. Otherwise it's very functional and serves the purpose.

When I was a kid (NES period), I loved all of the Nintendo themed merchandise that was available to me. Among my favorite things were the books of stickers. An idea for the magazine goal could be high quality Nintendo themed stickers designed by you guys or even random fan art sent to you. Maybe a contest for each issue's stickers? Reusable? Clear?

As someone with a digital-only subscription, I never seem to get the bonus items. I'd therefore much rather have more contests/giveaways.

Personally I would like to see you guys do Reviews/let's plays of Nintendo's E-Shop games. There's a lot of great content out there that just doesn't get seen.

Retromags Brian

What about posters that are poster sized? Right now the posters are 4-pages in size, so like two magazines opened up together. What about posters that are like the ones GamePro included in 1993 or Tips & Tricks Codebook had before they ceased publication, that were 8-pages in size? I'm more likely to use those than the current "half posters" :)

A cool poster would be sweet. Or even a poster FRAME!!

I'd never use something like a postcard, and I have way too many posters already. For the extra thing, I'd like to see playing cards or a Wii U compatilbe demo CD, indie devs/Nintendo permitting. Or maybe you could do what My Nintendo did in 2004 and offer themes for download for computers! <a href="http://www.smasher9a.com/nintendo.php" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.smasher9a.com/nintendo.php</a> That would benefit digital subscribers as well.

I agree. Printed goodies are always welcome. Some of the NF posters have been framed and hung in our game room! They're awesome. I only wish they weren't folded up. Additional giveaways are always a good idea too.

James

An extra piece of printed material sounds good to me.

Hey, I recently subscribed to the patreon. I'll admit once I found you I had to share about this magazine on Reddit in a Nintendo dedicated sub. I was suprised to see many weren't aware of you and subscribed also! Can't wait for my first magazine.

I vote bring Evan and Noah back! They are greatly missed!

Zagreus

This is so exciting! Very happy with how things are thriving. I'm a fan of all the posters being printed. Maybe there could be a podcast or certain patrons can talk with NF staff on a Skype call or Discord? I love the connection between the staff and the readers, so being able to talk with one another or even play games with another would be very cool. Maybe a giveaway tournament?

Can those with the digital only subscription get in on these prizes like the postcards or are we out of luck?

I wanna see stuff like GameXplain, some let's Plays, maybe sneak peeks at issues and development of issues and like Eddie Barber said, MERCH!

Eddie Barber

I would love to be able to buy a Nintendo Force t-shirt or hoodie to support you guys

First =D
