I just realized that garret killed trip’s partner because they probably found out garret was the clairvoyant. trip is only alive because he wasn’t smart enough to figure it out.

I am loving rewatching AoS with the fam! We said you’ll love it and now there is no going back.
100% agree on all counts, thats always been my read of this episode too. Ward’s chip on his shoulder IS that he feels weak, but his version of weakness is that inability to be totally cold-blooded, not that he can’t do the deed at all. And his skill at being a chameleonic spy able to play people emotionally stems from that same “weakness” so he’ll never be truly be rid of it.

I'd be curious to have a definite answer, but at the same time I like the idea in my head and don't want to be proven wrong🤣

ahhhh the ole "did ward shoot the dog" debate. A classic of agents of shield lore. Personally I think he didn't, and he is disgusted with himself for not being able to. He's really on that kylo ren energy lmao. I think the writers answered if he did do it or not though.

And good job Joe for figuring out right away that Garrett was gonna ask Ward to shoot the dog and then do the same to Fitz, even though you then let the show trick you again and doubt your guess. I think they don't show it on purpose, to keep you guessing, but my reading of the scene was that Ward couldn't kill Buddy while it was looking at him, shot in the air to make him run away and then shot him with a rifle to make it "less personal". And he did the same to FitzSimmons by dropping them into the ocean, he couldn't kill them cold blooded but decided to let gravity and water kill them.

I loved how you all stood up straighter when you realised you were gonna have Ward's backstory right at the beginning of the episode like you've been asking! It's just a tiny look but it already gives Ward's character so much more depth...
Hell’s yes, dropping in some Agents before the special forces of the Bad Batch later. 👌🏼 Damn the Howling Commandos connections are kinda perfectly timed too.
