Agents of Shields S2 Episode 14 Review

question: I don't see the review for 13 here only the reaction. but the review is on the YouTube page

I don't necessarily disagree with this idea. but I do think it raises the stakes differently. it threatens coulson's autonomy and leadership for one and it makes all the agents have to reassess their loyalties which is already a recurring theme of the show... is your ally always your ally? is your enemy always your enemy? alliances are always shifting. but starting with ward's betrayal it also hits hardest when it comes from somebody you saved or who saved you two episodes ago. we wouldn't have got those visceral reactions to it from Joe and raven if it had been any other agency especially one that has the audacity to call itself the "real" shield when they're hypocrites.

I also anticipated this reaction from Joe. but you just know he's totally here for Ward.

I think that talbot *is* a bit blustery and thick by nature though astute in other ways. but ward is ward, 100% agree.

and as Joe Sam and Raven have already noticed they're moving into story arcs now rather than doing 084 of the week episodes and based on your reactions to this show so far it's obvious you guys *get* it. I honestly love watching you discover it for yourself in these reviews. no spoilers and commenting is sometimes a fine line but what I can say is I also love how invested you already are and how often your deconstructions hit the mark.

it's hard not to get greedy with agents of shield. when it's all non-stop action and crazy reveals you think surely they can't keep this up. it's going to revert to world-building again but you get one or two more kick-ass episodes before they slow down. what's amazing is that the season's slow episodes *are* worth it because the world-building is also setting us up long term. it just keeps happening and layering and paying off.. this one of my top 5 TV shows of all time because the writing is a cut above and deserved recognition it didn't get outside the people who didn't care if Iron man made a guest appearance. it's why the show can be rewatched (ahem) multiple times because you end up picking up connections you might have missed the first time around.

I don't mind a slow episode or two of a show takes a lot of work to write, produce, have all the actors on set at the same time and plot but yea things get more spicy as it goes on and on and I appreciate talbot not being completely stupid he knew what was going on and tried to deal with it Ward was just smarter

I'm sure they will they didn't say this episode was bad just meh sets more things up for other episodes that are awesome. Shield has some great ass character development than most shows I've seen personally

Really hope you continue the series through the seasons. AoS's writing just gets better and better

I think the show is about to give you what youre looking for in regards to pace/plot movement in the next couple episodes

Every season, I think SHIELD does these "moving-the-pieces-into-place" episodes. Like they're not "filler" but it definitely has the sense of like making sure everything is in place for the final build-up. I just double-checked, and I'm like 80% sure that things start moving again next episode. If it helps this and the last episode were the last two episodes on IMDb that were rated below 8.0 in the entire series. I'm selfishly glad that the slowest episodes of the season were during the two weeks when I was crazy busy IRL so I wasn't distracted by hype.

I agree that we didn't really need the Real Shield, they could have been any other government's agency tbh

I predicted this Joe thumbnail
