It was this episode specifically that made me fall in love with Agents of SHIELD. The reveal about what is essentially the Thule Society equivalent of Hydra's backstory and what follows after this episode/season was (what I believe) to be the point where the writers finally committed to going balls to the wall with expanding the lore/history of the MCU in their own way, and at their own pace. If Season 1 (leading up to the Winter Soldier reveal) was the show trying to find its own identity, and season 2 was them beginning to experiment with different storylines --- then season 3 onward (with this episode in particular) was the writers deciding to take all of the things most people liked from season 2 and rolling with it. The midseason finale is damn mad(as is the rest of the series!) I hope you enjoyed it!
Haha I was going to suggest the same thing because it is fully just one story and works F*CKING BEAUTIFULLY as a double-bill. But I doubt they have the time to do both in one sitting.
if it’s at all possible, i would suggest you three watch episodes 9 and 10 in one sitting. (10 was the mid-season finale on first airing). as someone else recently mentioned this season is full of world-building that will pay off all the way into final season. btw, like joe i was really dying to know more after the ramshead hydra connection was made.

Oh 1000% and it’s going to be entertaining regardless. 😅 Though the stuff they’ll hate is pretty much instantly eclipsed by other beautiful madness in those seasons. Season 4 especially is almost a self-contained Marvel story on it’s own.
