Honestly, I find myself agreeing with the argument the localizers present. Translation is a very intricate process where you have to straddle the line between staying true to the original and making words flow naturally, and it really is more of an art than a science. But these localizations are the equivalent of Sonichu or Steven Universe, and people only ignore it because the games themselves are good

You don’t understand. Japan is a language with many nuances. That’s why we had to translate ごちそうさまでした as “Wubba lubba dub dub, thanks for all the grub grub!”
