Hey Daniel I dont know which kind of paper sizes you use but in the UK we use A4/A3/A2 etc. Recently I have been able to upgrade my system. Which means all my maps are created at a 1x1 Inch per square grid and at 300 dpi. (As of map 51+) My previous maps were made at 300dpi so should be print friendly, however they were made at a 100x100 pixel square grid rather than 1 inch per square so they wont go to extreme sizes like A2. If you use different units for measuring paper you can reference the A series paper sizes here - <a href="https://www.papersizes.org/a-paper-sizes.htm" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.papersizes.org/a-paper-sizes.htm</a> I am sorry I cant give a clear answer, this is largely due to the fact my maps tend to fluctuate in size.
