It feels good and fair to me that there is "American-style" food elsewhere that has not-much to do with actual American food. This is how food generally works internationally, and certainly lots of dishes served in the US or Europe as Indian, Chinese, Thai, Italian, Irish and more are just random things invented in American.

American here. I've never heard of it, but it does sound good. I will definitely look up a recipe.

Can confirm, this is the first time I’ve heard of such a meal, and now I wanna try it!

This is insane I love it

American cuisine treated like Americans treat other cuisine. I've never seen anything like that here (east coast US). Switch the ketchup with tomatoes and that might be tasty to me.

I want to try that. And like someone else pointed out, America does that regarding other cultures all the time. And we also have cool variations on regional foods created by folk who came to America and tried to recreate foods they knew with locally available ingredients.

woo hoo Thailand mentioned!

It makes sense, like American Chinese food, nothing like actual Chinese food, but rather the idea of what Americans would imagine Chinese food as.

It does sound like a dish I would expect to see on like Man vs Food or Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives lol

man I wish I knew a place that made that. That does sound amazing. I'll just settled for regular fried rice instead, still super delicious
