Rawr, I'm a monstah! (Mine Revenant)
🕑 Added 2018-02-01 00:08:11 +0000 UTC The longer I'm able to run a current D&D game, the more things I find I'll randomly draw out as a warm up.I ended up improvising a lot and using much of the art and maps that I've posted over the last while. It seems to be going well!
I might, in the future, do an 'old school' mock up of a module complete with black and white art and maps that I've used in this storyline and eventual run-through. Its odd how these things come together.
Its part of what inspired me to draw out the Mine Revenant, those old days leafing through monster manuals.
The undead come from the intense sense of loss in dark places where the 'stone will remember'. Often magically infused and Dwarven-mined sites trigger the memory of stone, a phenomenon that can bring benefit and woe. Tragedies in these places will see the stone's drawing the sorrow of the soul to wander, reliving its final moments, often heard as echoing cries, weeping, begging.
Screaming.
The stone remembers.
I'm still slightly behind on art. I wanted to have the painting finished, as well as this month's patron sketch. I believe I'll catch up over the next week as I'm feeling immensely better than I did. A month of 7 days a week work and seasonal affective disorder can really drain the heart and mind.
The pantsless equines have started dancing around in my head again. I take this as a good sign.
Now just to avoid people with butterfly nets.

Glad you're doing what you must. Sheds are tarps are useful, until they are already occupied by someone. Man, I thought they'd be hard to beat but it sounds much worse than I imagined. How terrible. Too bad there's not a vessel or portable temple type. "Temple in a jar." Lol Yay for sketching. I've been keeping busy so the season has had it's up days too.

I've managed to avoid them so far. Mostly by hiding behind sheds and under tarps. Mine Revenants are almost impossible to kill. They're essentially like the shadows left behind by atomic blasts when a major disaster with the arcane happens in an area, but part of the soul is burned and imprinted into the surrounding rock. Putting them to rest requires a large effort consecration, but all too often they're around areas too remote for any temple or kingdom to care. Hope you are getting through the seasonal 'greys' too. They were really bad for me over the month of January. They've subsided for the most part. So onward to sketching!

I have faith you can avoid the nets and capture the pantless ponies. You will be victorious. Also, those Mine Revenants sound horrifying and really difficult to kill. I feel sorry for the rocks that get stuck with that. Love the feet on the sketch you posted. Glad you're getting over the work strain and issues with the seasons. It hit me hard this season too.
