Brief update
🕑 Added 2019-09-15 19:48:03 +0000 UTCSome extra family health issues have cropped up that, frankly, have left me in a pretty rough mental space for the last 8 or 9 days now. As such, as much as I hate missing deadlines, I have to delay the next monthly patron sketch for August.
I hate missing these. I've only missed two (I think) in the past, one due to vacation, the other due to issues much like the current ones I'm facing. The circumstances were unforeseen, and in the last few days have hit critical mass. Frankly, I need to practice some 'self care' before I end up in a pretty bad state where I can't be a caregiver.
As always, this is a delay, not a cancellation. While everyone on the list (I think? I hope?) has got at least one sketch, if not their second, I'm still promising the next person won't be bumped from the list, but it'll have to be sketched in October, instead of this month.
There will be a few more personal bits of art posted. And the 'welcome home' image is being painted as it doesn't require much mental energy.
I apologize for this delay. this was largely out of my control. I'll endeavor to make it up to folks.

I managed to hide in my 'head world' for a while, and got some help, and I'm recovering. Things are starting to normalize, even if a little more shaky now. But their health issues have at least hit stable levels again.

I keep forgetting the rule I had set that 'self care' allows me to recharge and do the caregiver job better in the long run. Having the sudden family health issue on top of exhaustion was a bit of a powder keg to my psyche. I am very sorry to hear that you lost your moth in July. My condolences to you and your family. In turn, please take care of yourself too, I know how loss of a family member can take time to heal from.

Thank you. The worst of the initial stuff is over, and my own mental health is starting to get back to normal as well (Okay.. normal is a relative term, but normal for me ;)

Self care is not selfish. Frankly if you are not rested and ready you cannot be useful. My mother died late July, I know how family health can disrupt you life. Take care.
