It's skull was held aloft by tendrils of eldritch, haunted power of pale green, and a barely heard chorus of wails told me that it may have been souls themselves holding that rotting icon aloft.
When it spoke, I swear I felt it shake my very faith, the creature inquiring why the warmth of mortal flesh passed the seal unto its charge, and broke the covenants set by the Solstifira's light.
How it spoke the sun goddess' name without bursting into holy conflagration on the spot was beyond me, but this creature's very presence in such a temple of light was blasphemy."

Just one last 'spook' sketch. Despite not doing the Halloween thing this year, I'll be at least running a game for the first time on the night itself. Of course it will feature undead, and probably German beer.
Next month is proving to be busy from an art standpoint. I'm hoping to get some panel work done for the 'Cinders' comic, as well as the usual sketches, a painting, and if all goes right, taking on a commission or two. I'm still working on finding time to dedicate to that though, and finalizing the unfun bits of prices and methods of announcing.
I think, though, I'll take the first full weekend off that I've had in probably a year. Its hard to tell since days kind of blend together lately, but games, sleep, and maybe some smol candies are in order.

That would prove intriguing! Though I admit, I'm biased towards stories that feature undead, or some sort of 'spook' element to its mystery. I guess it explains why I love Halloween and the season so much. I'm hoping to give as close to the full story of Cinders as well as those who she travelled with. Its a pretty daunting task, and one that I have to co-write with someone to get all of the facts straight that I might forget. I'm thinking the comic (or graphic novel or whatever they call them these days) will be long-form. Its not slated to be printed so I can do away with the 32/64 page format, though I still have to plan for breaks between 'issues'.

Someday, I'm going to write a story where the spirit inhabiting a haunted suit of armor in vindicated and 'lives' on to protect a new population. So, will we be learning something of Cinders' backstory? Perhaps by the Power of Flashbacks...
