The beginning of Dragon Ball is very cartoonish and funny, so seeing animals spoken is not that surprising π

Same, I grew up with the French dubbing which appeared in 1988 in a television program intended for the children, therefore many scenes judged inappropriate were censored, either cut, or the translations are completely different. I would say that after comparing the French dubbing to the subtitles of the first 2 episodes that half of the translations have nothing to do with the original. Even the scene where Pilaf farts is censored ... Sometimes you wonder why. "Bulma: What's your name? Subs: I'm Goku, Son Goku and you? French dub: I don't know, I'm my grandfather's grandson. "

First Time watching DB with Jap Dub :D i grew up with the German Dub here ^^. I really like how naive and "silly" Goku was here in these Episodes, i mean yes its a bit "weird" to see him naked, "touching" Bulmas Lap etc. but he really only grew up with his Grandfather and then alone, he doesnt know anything about all that stuff :D but i guess today you cant really show that, the Touching Lap part was only in the uncut version too if i remember correctly. About your Questions, i dont know if you really want answer on them or just asking it yourself, maybe its better for Questions you really want to get an answer for just ask it on the Post then.
