A quick notice regarding the Firebirds Update
🕑 Added 2024-11-19 19:33:18 +0000 UTCHello! I hope everyone is doing well. I'm making a quick post about the new War Thunder Firebirds update that just released.
This update broke a few minor things about the mod, the main issue is missing sounds. These vary from new engine sounds to updated cannon sounds, such as the ADEN/DEFA cannons on the Mirage series of aircraft.
Besides that, the mod should work as intended. One quick fix for the missing cannon sounds is to remove the aircraft_guns.bank and aircraft_guns.assets.bank files from your mod folder. After that, the sounds should return.
For the moment, I'm waiting for Gaijin to update the sound modding project at https://github.com/GaijinEntertainment/fmod_studio_warthunder_for_modders I'm expecting this to happen fairly soon. Until then, I won't be able to update the mod. I'll make another post once they have updated it and I've started my work.

I'm reworking the inner system of the Multi-RWR functionality in this next update, so I hope that'll fix the issues. If you do still encounter them after i release the update, let me know.

I can’t think of anything that’s causing it myself, I’ve checked every driver on my PC, verified the files loads of times and tried other sound mods which work fine. It’s weird, hopefully it works fine with the next release

Would probably be best unless you come up with anything else to try. It's hard to provide a solution atm since I'm not able to reproduce it myself nor with anyone I know. That makes me think it's something on your end that could be causing it, such as a software issue etc.

Yeah I tried all of those and it's still happening, might just have wait and see if it continues with the next release

Using the custom Betty version seems to fix the issue, thanks for your help. [Edit]: Ok nevermind the stuttering is back and worse than ever, starting happening with any sound playing now like guns firing, even in props it's stuttering.

1. Could you try the custom Betty version, and use the mod on its own? 2. Verify your game files 3. Delete the "mod" folder > start the game > close the game > add the "mod" folder again and put the mod back in. This often fixes caching issues Let me know if any of these change anything. I'm not really sure what's causing these issues for you, as I've not been experiencing them, and neither have other people I've seen playing with my mod enabled.

Just the default version, I tried flying the JAS39C, JA37DI, F-14B, F-15C and the F-104S TAF. All had the same stuttering issues, it starts when I would first have an RWR ping and get worse throughout the games. Happens in every game I played at the higher tiers. I tried flying aircraft with no RWR and experience no issues at all.

What version were you using? The default or custom Betty? What aircraft were you flying as well when these issues occur and how frequently does it happen?

I did a clean install of RCSM and IWSM separately and after seeing that those were working fine I first added all of the BANK files from the 9.1 Multi RWR only release to RCSM and the issue started to occur. I then tried it without the music BANK files and it still occurred. It seems that when I add the aircraft_engines BANK files the issue stars to happen. I have tried just using IASM without any other sound mods but the issue still happens.

Hmm, could you tell me which sound mods you mix mine with and do you remove or replace any of the files from mine? Also, which version of IASM do you use?

After a recent patch the RWR sounds seem to be causing really bad stuttering issues now, anytime the RWR alert sound is played the game stutters heavily. I have tested with other sound mods and they seem to be running fine, until I add IASM files into the soundmod folder then the game becomes unplayable.
