EARLY ACCESS: Buckley's Breakdown: Quibi

A lot more informal than "A Dose of Buckley LIVE", I'll be taking calls on Discord about pretty much whatever, playing some games, whatever. I'll probably also be on there for longer than an hour, so check in throughout the night if you can't be there at the beginning.
THE WEEKEND VIDEO: Because there weren't already enough streaming options, a new service called "Quibi" launched with the hopes of capturing an audience of people who want to watch TV "on the go". But with less than 2 million active users, it hasn't quite made the splash it had hoped. But that means probably not a lot of people have tried it... so, I bite the bullet for you and review this new service. Enjoy an all new "Buckley's Breakdown" 24 hours before the rest of my audience.

Digging the music, getting a whole 90's first Matrix movie feel to it but good energy levels if that makes sense. Draws you in and gets you hooked for the content. Great content too :)

Gotta say i love the run time of the video. I have a super cheap clip mount that i attach to my bed when i wanna lay down and watch videos on my phone.

If you can get a free trial and watch it, and I guess let them earn a little ad revenue, you might as well go for it, but I wouldn't pay money to have seen it. It was a solid "fine", but it felt like a 90 minute movie broken up into way too many parts that also was setting itself up for a sequel. It also wasn't as funny as I was hoping a show featuring those two would be (a couple good laugh-out-loud moments, but if you're going to break it into 11 episodes, each one being 8 minutes long or so, every episode better have a really great moment or else why is it an episode?)

I saw ads almost non-stop for it on Twitter and Facebook, as well as a few on YouTube. If you have ad blocker on, that would probably explain it, but outside of that maybe you just got lucky to avoid them?

Yeah, so when I send the e-mail you guys get the entire write-up in the e-mail but you have to come to Patreon to click the video? If so, then yeah I can definitely start doing that if it makes it easier for everyone.
Is there any way that you might be able to include a link to the video in the description? It's a minor thing but to watch the videos after I see the email I need to come to the Patreon site first.

I'll be honest I never even heard of Quibi before this review, where are they even marketing this?

I was only interested in the will forte and Kaitlin Olsen show. And even with you saying that it was good I still donβt know that I want to be bothered with this. I didnβt know it was a streaming app for people with short attention spans. π

Yeah this seems like a pretty pointless service. It's basically YouTube but you have to pay for it, the videos are all short, and there's less to watch. YouTube has a lot of garbage, but I don't need to tell you that if you take the time to look you can find some pretty high quality stuff. Summoned Salt is pretty good, I've watched a lot of speedrun history of the games I'm interested in or if I think the history of how people found faster ways to get through the game might be.
