So, originally I had planned on doing a "Social Media Meltdown" video about a topic that I think very few people in the US probably heard about, but it looks like I'm saving that for next week, because I couldn't resist this topic that developed late last week. Former child star Bella Thorne created an OnlyFans account, and in the process broke two things: The record for the most money generated in a day, and OnlyFans itself. And not in that lame way where people go "Oh she BROKE the Internet!" when someone gets 5 million views on Instagram, like the Internet's so fragile that it can't handle 5 million people looking at a photo of a Jenner, but OnlyFans itself had to change some of their policies because of her (although they deny that this is the reason those policies changed). Buckley looks at what Bella Thorne did, and also OnlyFans' reputation in general.

Because as Buckley says - the site has no idea how many of these credit card transactions will actually be legit and go through so they stand to lose a shit tonne of money if people chargeback or it gets stopped by a bank.

Why "should" anyone do it? I don't know, but no one's really forcing it. Why "would" anyone do it? I guess if you really want to see THAT person naked, and that's how much they're charging. Why does anyone spend money on anything? Because it's something they'd enjoy. Probably some guy out there buying feet pics on OnlyFans going "why do these nerds spend their money on comics?", someone out paying for a hooker going "why would someone spend $200 on a pair of shoes?"

Fun little story here: they made me change the thumbnail because I guess it had the word "Fucked" Blurred (even though it was just the F and the D). Otherwise I have no idea why they wouldn't allow it.
