People LOVE lists. It's inescapable. Even now as Buzzfeed and WatchMojo become less relevant to audiences, people still like a "best of" and "worst of" list more than anything. So, I had an idea: what if I tear apart the lists?! And so, I'm trying out a new segment this week, where I find a list that's already made, they could be subjective (like someone's list of the best movies) or objective (like a list of the highest grossing movies) and I discuss what's on it. In the first one, it's Buckley VS The 10 Most Popular TikTok Videos. What do people who watch TikTok love the most, and is it any good? Let's find out!
Buckley breaks down the 10 most popular TikTok videos based on how many likes they have. From someone making a face to... another person making a face... there's something on TikTok for everyone, provided "everyone" likes the most simple content remade over and over by different people!

To me TikTok isn't something I subconsciously open like twitter, but when I decide to go on it, hours fly by and I feel like I've wasted so much time.

He's got a couple where it's like "ok, yes this is someone trying to solve a problem no one really has and it's funny he's making fun of it" but a lot of them, including the most liked/most popular ones, are definitely "ok this was a parody and now you're criticizing a parody, which is kinda dumb"

I don't have the app, perhaps I should actually learn how it works (people who like it swear "it's not JUST dumb kid shit, its algorithm is pretty good if you watch a bunch of stuff about a certain subject your feed becomes almost entirely about that subject instead of stupid dances and people making faces"), I just see them either as they go viral, or by going to the actual website.
I actually had the same exact thoughts on Khaby. He’s the only person I’ve found on there to be moderately amusing but I always felt like the videos he was mocking were supposed to be stupid intentionally 🤷♂️

Actually, you know what's kinda funny about that? "Go the Fuck to Sleep" is effectively that. If you watch it closely enough, I didn't like the audio from my potato camera I was using back then, so I revoiced the whole thing and then layered it over the video... a dub is basically a reverse lip sync!

What is this TikTok of which you speak? Honestly have never been on the site/app/whatever. I did see one video from there that was worth it: a guy showing how the MRNA vaccines work. I have shown it to a bunch of scientifically illiterate people. It helped.
