I probably wouldn't do this one in the video, but yeah people are fairly excited I guess... but like a bunch of people from London won medals so I think by this point everyone's now just like "yay" instead of "YAY!" Maggie MacNeil won 3 medals, Susanne Grainger won a rowing Gold, the Women's Soccer team has two Londoners on it and they beat the US so everyone was more excited about that than the fact that they'll win a Gold or Silver. But the thing about this garbage town is... these people got ZERO coverage before the Olympics. It's not like anyone knew who these people were. Then they win medals and everyone's like "THEY'RE OURS!" like oh yeah you helped them out huh? Your business funded/sponsored them? The newspapers wrote lots of articles about them when they were training or winning Regional championships? Not really...

You’ve talked about anime in a few prior videos (you filthy weeb). Which ones have you watched that you would recommend? I’ve only ever finished a couple (Initial D started it since I’ve always been intrigued by Japan’s rather unique car culture, Girls und Panzer, and Neon Genesis Evangelion) and all in all I thought they were all pretty entertaining, somewhat insightful and changed my previous negative connotations of anime.

There are a lot of "nerd channels" where the focus is on comics and other related media. Nowadays "nerd opinion channels" are their own niche and despite how many there are more always seem to pop up. Was there ever a point early on in your making videos where you were tempted to switch over to focusing on nerd-specific content? Especially with how popular it seems to be?

I personally think that these past few years in America we are witnessing the “fall of the Roman Empire” part 2. America has been so big and so powerful that joining WWI and WWII directly influenced the outcome of the war. Hitler was afraid of America joining the war so they tried to make peace with us and kiss our ass. And the Japanese emperor, as crazy as he was, knew he would never take the war to American soil. Now fast forward nearly 100 years and America is the butt of every joke. From the COVID response that basically never started, to endless threats of civil war from both sides, to basic human rights becoming a political issue. It’s only a matter of time before America falls from grace, and becomes just another place on the map… What say you?

I think I've talked about Japan in a few Patreon Goes Postal episodes now (and possibly some other videos), so I don't think this one will make the cut but yeah it was a fun time. I highly recommend that if you can visit Tokyo in your lifetime, do so. Nerd it up in Akihabara, walk the streets at night in the "dangerous" Kabukicho and the Golden Gai district, push your way through people at the Shibuya Crossing and Harijuku Shopping district, go watch a fight at Korakuen Hall or a baseball game at the Tokyo Dome (or do both, they're right beside each other) and eat in literally any restaurant you find, they're all amazing.

Sorry that happened to you man, Its not that he's funnier, he's likely richer than you, I imagine flight instructors make a good chunk of money, especially if he owns a plane. Best way to get over it is to realize that you dodged a major bullet because if you had stayed with her she would have constantly hassled you over how much money you were making and/or eventually left you for someone richer after you were married, which would mean you'd be paying out a divorce settlement. Dating sucks man but you will meet someone new thats the good thing about college you're literally surrounded by single women.

I’m in college. I dated this girl that I met through my campus job. She left me for her 35 year old flight instructor after about a year. I will be honest that I found it weird that after only two sessions, she started getting lessons from him for free. I tried not to think much of it because I didn’t want to be a jealous boyfriend.
