EARLY ACCESS: Influencers: Morons with Money or Saviors of Society?

The last two years have really highlighted the gap between the haves and have-nots, starting a lot of arguments on social media (usually between the "have-nots" and the "have-nots who think they'll someday be haves"). This week's video is about Influencers and how they spend their money, and some of the new arguments I've been seeing pop up about why it might actually be a good thing that these people do the things they do. More and more people are making lots and lots of money on the Internet as "influencers", "YouTubers", "Streamers", etc. And a lot of people, once they get money, like to spend it, often in really dumb ways. And while we used to make fun of this behavior and call people out for their extravagant lifestyles, is this potentially a GOOD thing?! Buckley looks at a few famous and not-so-famous Internet celebrities and how they've spent their money, and the online reaction both for and against their spending.

Personal opinion, I save my money for a rainy day and a small percentage for vacations. I don't think I'll live long enough to retire and I don't want kids so I see no reason to invest in retirement or 401ks. If I'm lucky, I'll die at 60 with a life full of good memories and few regrets

+ some people always have a family as a backup when things go dire, at least here in slavic countries one of the reason people are closely bonded with their families is to support one another.

I mean, having 5 months of your regular spending as a saved money isn't that bad, not good to give people financial advice but for a regular person it's enough to grab a few new skills, get some certificates for another job (in 3 months you can become a low level software tester, finish a course and get a certificate). And when you get fired you obviously adjust your spendings to at least 2/3rd of what you spent before. With a car she can always try to be an uber driver or deliver food while learning skills to land a better job. Not great but workable, she would be in deep shit if some big health issue poped up though.
