Bonus #96 - Advice Patreon Asked For - Number Nine

When I first started doing "Advice Patreon Asked For", I figured it'd be difficult to get people to send me their questions... after all, every one of you knows full well the abuse I've given other people over the years in my other Advice video series. So an extra special thank you to those people who are willing to have their problems (and sometimes friends and family members) mocked by me for the enjoyment of everyone else. Enjoy this week's bonus video!
Buckley helps actual subscribers with actual questions in an all new Advice Patreon Asked For! First, a guy who's getting married is having trouble with one of his groomsman claiming it's discrimination that he can't go to the Bachelorette party! Then, someone feels the rest of their family is trying to use them as a human ATM (that's Automatic Teller Machine, get your minds out of the gutter!)

I'm with you on this one now. I used to be a serial lender to my brother a while back because the thought of him going hungry was upsetting. I got so stressed about it (I'm a student, I don't even really have the money to be lending in the first place.) that I eventually just started saying no, I felt guilty for while, but let's put it this way - my brothers not exactly starving or malnourished, he can feed himself just fine.

The person with the second problem needs to stop enabling the sister and boyfriend. If they need money, they have to work for it. It is not hard to say no. I've said it to my siblings many of times. They know I'm not an ATM so don't ask for money unless you intend to pay it back.

Just send me a private message here on Patreon, and then I'll put it in the pile! I ask that questions aren't too long, try and keep 'em short and not too serious (I don't want to be responsible for destroying anyone's lives, it's all supposed to be somewhat fun).

God Buckley. You’re a genius. It’s interesting seeing these personality types that can’t just come right out and deal with a problem. Some personalities just can’t deal with the real world.
Why do Buckley's cats look as angry as he does??
Shumiry
Cute cats! Also, sometimes you have to say "No". It'll be a good lesson for both people as well. You're just a doormat otherwise.

Every new parent I know is totally frazzled and dead tired. I can't fathom one saying to themselves, "You know what I also need in my already stressed life...a cat to take care of!." Hell, half of them would give the baby back if they could some nights.
Ash Archer
They are very brave souls, those who would reach out to Buckley with their issues

Perhaps someone's never seen Clerks 2? It's what you never do (except in the heat of the moment).

No one asked me but who cares, it's what the comments can be used for anyway. 1. be the asshole. No one gets to be on both. If he starts a fuss about it then tell him he isn't invited at all. It's not his fucking party, he's a guest there. So fucking behave like a guest. You don't matter during this party, shut up, get drunk and try to enjoy yourself. Fucking most important person in the world over there. 2. Don't give them money. Borrow them money. They can pay you back in parts, 0% interest, say every 3 months. And say they can't borrow more until they paid back what they borrowed before. You can make some exceptions like "the baby is sick and needs help asap" but don't try to tell them that info, if an emergency strikes then just help without saying a word. And since she's your younger sister- invite her once for coffee and tell her what being a responsible adult is like. She's 18, she needs to understand it and act like an adult asap. If she gets upset like the child she is- oh well, I guess she needs to learn the hard way. But since you offered her financial help so far she needs to understand there wont be more if she won't care about her relations with her family.
