EARLY ACCESS: Modern Masculinity

Hey everyone, it's Early Access day and this one is similar to the "Tipping" video I did a few weeks back, where I tackle a more broad topic while using a current viral example. You seemed to enjoy that, so... let's do it again, this time with the subject of "masculinity" and role models. Enjoy!
Recently, a video went viral of a man shopping for boy's clothing at Target and not liking that the selection includes a lot of... very colorful options. Buckley looks at the current online defenders of "traditional masculinity" and wonders just how masculine they would be if held to the standards of what was once considered "traditional masculinity". Also, are there any role models left who DON'T need you to smash that like button?

Yeah I think on a beach or something, an adult could definitely pull off that tiger one or the Basketball. I don't know if everyone could pull off the dragon monster truck one, but... with the right amount of confidence, I think a few people could.

Okay some of those designs in the boy shirts slap.
Oh Ash, you mostly got it. However, I mostly argue that both sides have this issue of hypocrisy, yet I’ll maintain that it’s usually those narcissistic, immature, and arrogant extremists that are in the far end of each side that contribute the most to the hypocrisy in order to feel special and important. However, you are quite insightful, well done.

I love that he just tossed the shirts back on the table-barely. 🙄 Had I been a boy I feel like my dad would’ve done something stupid like this. My mom let all four of us express ourselves with our outfits as long as it didn’t break the bank lol. The only rule in shopping for us was check sale racks first. She let my youngest sister choose which department she wanted to shop in at the beginning of her tomboy phase and let it play out until she was a preteen when she started changing her style again. She didn’t care how many skater shirts she and my brother wear and what I chose at Hot Topic and Rave as long as it was reasonable or we paid for it lol. My other sister made some clothes too. Just let your kids find their way with some guidelines and let them flourish. And if we’re gonna put labels on clothes can we talk about most metal shirts that are cut for girls/women are often not in the same style as men? Is this guy gonna come after me because my Metallica shirts are men’s shirts? So sorry that I want a bloody Avenged Sevenfold shirt over one with fucking hearts one it. 🤦🏼♀️

You sure about that? From this side of Atlantic it looks like both sides are equally happy about it. And we have seen how social media leaned more to the left and actively banned those they disagreed with, even if later evidence proved those people were correct. Now freedom of expression does not mean you are free of consequences but that is job for courts, not platforms or mob rule. At least that is how it works over here in Finland where law is quite clear "No one is allowed to preemptively prevent some from voicing their opinion" But if what you say breaks the law, say libel, you can be sued and punished. But that is a judicial decision, not one of a butt-hurt mob.

It’s ironic… the right claim they are the ones trying to stand up for freedom of expression and yet they’re also the ones most heavily crying out for censorship and to “cancel” anything that’s different to their values.

God has been woke since the end of the great flood.

Buckley please keep these coming, I want to have your rationale present in the world

The most offensive parts of that Target video were him haphazardly throwing the shirts back 🤦🏻♀️

I have to say Buckley, that Sneako crediting you tweet is so cursed lol

Well done Buckley! My love is the most masculine man I know, though he has very lean muscles. He's got his shit together, he doesn't whine ever, he's calm and even tempered and I could go on but you get the point. Of course he's in his 60s as am I. Guess our generation sucked at raising boys, seeing as how these whiners are the age of my daughters.

Nailed it, Buckley! It feels very ironic that these same people will complain about the Left being sensitive snowflakes who are triggered easily…as if they aren’t doing the same thing

Whenever I see extremist people like this, I seriously hope that they are only this nutso for the camera, but I know that's probably not the case anymore. But you know what, I'll give him some props though, his shirt is slightly feminist. It put the women's icon first. Look at him go!

Thank you for being a rational person.
