In 2023, people are STILL making jokes about how bad Nickelback is. Buckley feels this says more about the joke tellers than it does about Nickelback. A look at a Rolling Stone article about the "50 Greatest Canadian Artists" that starts out with the premise that "Nickelback wasn't worthy of the list but THESE 50 artists were", and goes downhill from there.

I’m sick of the Nickelback slander, I like quite a few of their songs. Some are lame, sure, but I wouldn’t single them out as bad by any means. Some people make it a personality trait to shit on Nickelback when it’s just bandwagoning onto the age-old meme at this point.

Not gonna lie I saw Nickelback in concert two weeks ago and had a great time. They were very self aware and didn’t take themselves too seriously. Played most of their hits and honestly they sounded pretty good. Wasn’t a mind blowing experience or anything but if they came through again I’d for sure see them.
