Hey everyone, it's Early Access Day, and you may have noticed it's been a while since my last Musical Autopsy... to share a little data with you, last year two of my Musical Autopsies were my worst performing videos, one of those being about one of the biggest artists of that year (Olivia Rodrigo). And this year, the only Musical Autopsy I released is probably my second worst performing video. In the last 3 years, only TWO of my Autopsies have been in the top 50% of my best performing videos (one being Gayle's ABCEFU, and the other being that Rich Men North of Richmond piece of shit).
"But, Buckley, I watch 'em all" you might say, and I'm grateful for that, but I also have a theory: it's not that you don't want to watch them, it's that they're not reaching anyone! I have a suspicion that the word "Autopsy" in the video's title causes a lower reach, as videos where I've talked about songs WITHOUT using the Musical Autopsy branding (like my video about Beyonce's Texas Hold'Em) have done just fine. SO, I'm doing a little experiment here with the video's title on YouTube, we'll see if that helps or makes it worse. Anyway, enjoy!
Doc Buckley dusts off the scalpel to slice up Katy Perry's second or third attempt at regaining the audience she had 12 years ago, by... ripping off songs from 12 years ago.
