I think it's certainly easy and cathartic to go "I told you so" (fun too!) and while I get it, I can understand why you're not seeing much of a balance of comments... you're not going to see a lot of people rushing to his side (Well, you are on Twitter, everyone trying to do backflips to defend him), but yeah, I get that feeling of "I watched this guy, now he's a piece of shit, now what?", I was, and really, still am, a HUGE fan of Louis CK's comedy. Similarly, he admitted to poor behavior, in his case, abusing power dynamics and getting very obviously under-duress consent, he apologized, he went away for a while, and even now he's still nowhere near the mainstream. And yeah, it sucked, having to go "Well, there's a guy I liked and turns out he's a piece of shit". But obviously that's also a kinda selfish thing to say too, not "Oh that's horrible for the victims", just "It's horrible for me, now I gotta find something else to watch!" haha, that's not great. So, I don't know, if your comment is "try to be a good person" to DrDisrespect? Definitely not. To his fans? Sure, as long as they're not defending him or trying to downplay it.

I wrote this for YouTube but couldn't manage to post it, mostly because I don't want a week or drip-fed notifications from insane people insulting my intelligence, so decided to post it here instead. Curious to hear what any other Patreon members / the buckley himself think. It was written to address most of the comments on the video, and not the content of the video (which I didn't disagree with whatsoever) I have been a huge Dr Disrespect fan for a really long time, there has been a few times since the ban where I didn't miss a stream for weeks at a time because I was so entertained. His character was great satire (which many people always failed to understand and was basically a meme in the community) and every now and again he would actually manage to pull something off in game. Since this news, it's been tough. I never see discussion about what it's like to have someone you enjoy caught in something like this: instead it's mostly people from other communities coming out of the woodwork to bash random character qualities instead of the only relevant ones, such as the inappropriate conduct. Even in this comment section, lots of people with "He was never funny" and "His fans are stupid" It's easily the majority, you get the idea that most people writing that stuff would say it about anyone just because they think it makes them sound like they know something. This comment isn't about the D, it's not about SA or believing victims, it's about one simple thing: just try to be a good person. Brownie points if you manage to finally quit your bad habit of writing the most empty comments on YouTube

I think we have now seen every kind of apology, from ukuleles to interpretive dances and now to just straight up admitting to it and trying to save face by saying there was no real attention. Sure Pal whatever you say.
