Hey everyone, it's Bonus Dose Day, and this week's video is another Gen Z "discovery" of something that's existed for... centuries? Hey, kids will learn about things when they learn about things I suppose... at least, until they take away their ability to learn anything, once they've finished huffing too much Galaxy Gas. Enjoy!
Buckley looks at the latest TikTok "inventions" that are actually hundreds of years old, including their latest big discovery... huffing nitrous! A new product called "Galaxy Gas" is trending on the platform, to a point where TikTok has had to take action. But while the company claims they ONLY sell the product for culinary purposes... why do they have such weird merch, and why do they sell it to... dubious stores? Plus, did you know ice cream and coke can go in the SAME GLASS?!

I have never heard of a "float" before i.e. a mixture of ice cream and soft drink, usually Coke in a drink. In Australia though back in the day we just called them "Spiders." I wonder if a "float" is a Canadian thing or an American thing. Never tried "whippets" either but I think everyone has experimented with weed at some point. As with alcohol and other drugs some people can do the whole "moderation" thing, other people... not so much.

In Australia we call them nangs and they usuaully come in small silver bottles (or at least the ones lying around the alley between my apartment and the shops are).

Makes sense you all are right next to each other

So…how do you actually by it then? Also, Ketamine. Huge “comeback” right now

Best nitrous high I've been on was while diving. But as an after thought good thing I was attached to a rope otherwise I would have went in wrong direction and probably would have run out of air.
Honk22
Oh hey we call them that here in New Zealand too. Yet another thing our countries have in common.

Maybe China taking over would be a good thing at this point? *Disclaimer, this is a joke*
Adam Buckley
I think I saw that, but I can't remember... either way, might have been based on the whole fearmongering over this "trend" (that, I looked into for this video and apparently there were no ACTUAL reported cases of) in the 90s or 2000s of "kids putting bowls with holes in them over cow shit and huffing them to get high off the methane".

In Australia, we often call floats “spiders”… I really don’t know why…

Cheesing from South Park would make fun headlines...

He made it right there in his car, all those cartridges in the passenger side floor

You mentioned Denis Leary in the visuals (I missed that the first time) and quote a line from the standup but you don’t mention his name in the audio. No Cure for Cancer and Lock and Load where my favourite performances growing up
Adam Buckley
Yeah, that's the one I mentioned here (I think visually only? Did I say it in the audio? I already forgot). No Cure For Cancer is one of those albums that definitely shaped my sense of humor, and obviously I didn't know about the drama between Leary and Bill Hicks at the time (I was like 13).

I only know about whippets from an old Denis Leary standup. The things people did.

I worked with a guy about 20 years ago, who used to say "how come no one does speed anymore?"
Adam Buckley
That guy must have really made a lot of whipped cream!

Had a customer who would buy 150 nitrous cartridges from the smoke shop I worked at, every day at 8am on the dot. If that location didn't have it he'd drive to one of our other chains. He was like 40 lol.

Reminds me that episode of South Park where kids(including Kenny and Gerald) are sniffing cat piss.
Fiz Gig
Nitrous? We used to huff that during acid trips when I was an undergrad. These kids are pikers. 😉
