Hey everyone, it's Early Access Day, and this is one of those weeks where I didn't really choose the topic, the topic chose me. What else would the guy who built an audience talking about music talk about this week other than the controversy surrounding the return of the biggest band of the 2000s, right? So... enjoy!
Linkin Park is one of the biggest bands of the 2000s, and one of the most influential NuMetal groups of all time. So when their lead singer died, there was no way that the rest of the members would just pack it in and never tour again, right? Fans were excited when they teased a new lead singer. Then they were surprised that it was a woman... then they were horrified that it was THIS woman. Buckley takes you through the Internet's reaction to Emily Armstrong, and then... takes you through the real world's reaction. Guess how different they were?!

I’m glad they’re having fun, but it’s not the same for me - Buckley nailed it, it feels like either karaoke or Temu Linkin Park. It should have been a new project. I enjoyed all the puns in this video though Buckley, I think radio might have broken you a bit!

I get why he doesn't though. Linkin Park is a brand. Anything else won't get as much attention or make as much money, certainly wouldn't sell out 20,000 seat arenas. If I started a new channel that had nothing to do with A Dose of Buckley, even if I told my audience about it, good chance I'd get maybe... 500, 1000 viewers? So I understand why Mike Shinoda wants to hang on to Linkin Park as much as possible.

As always, I get a big laugh in the end. 😏 Let's see, Close to the Edge came out when I was 13. Still listen to Yes. B-52s the year I was 20. Korn and NIN when I was in my 30s, and so on. I have always been able to find something new I like until now, current music blows. I loved Linkin Park - the soundtrack of the death of my marriage - but I haven't listened to the new song. Not sure if I ever will. Thanks for coming to my nostalgia tour.
