Hey everyone, it's Early Access Day, and today's video is... well, it's not going to be my FUNNIEST video of all time, but it's a topic that I think is important. After seeing two stories about "pedo hunters" that resulted in wrongfully accused people being attacked for clout on the Internet, I felt down a bit of a rabbit hole of other incidents over the last few years as well as active groups who actually make catching these sickos even more difficult. So, "enjoy" might not be the right word here, but... enjoy!
Looking for another reason why TikTok should be banned? Well, look no further than the wannabe-Chris Hansens of the Internet! Buckley discusses the "To Catch a Predator" (#ToCatchaPredator) trend on TikTok that has resulted in two incidents where people were assaulted after falsely being accused of being pedophiles, as well as the "pedo hunter" groups who actively harm police efforts to catch actual predators, all for meaningless likes and clicks.

Oh wow I'm so shocked that guys who spend their entire waking life fantasizing about pedophilia might turn out to also be pedophiles. Whenever you see someone calling themselves a "pedophile hunter", you can usually just leave off the hunter part

Reason 9000 why even though the whole TikTok sale law was messed up. TikTok should be banned. Too many losers get clout they don't deserve on social media. People forget how "To Catch A Predator" ended, cause of lawsuits and more. The prosecutor in Texas said he had no choice but to let those pervs go.

Yeah, I've said before in videos, my biggest issue with age gaps is if someone who is an adult KNEW a person before they were legal, especially if they were in any sort of authoritative role (like a teacher or something)... like "oh I met her when I was 30 and she was 15 but we didn't start dating until she was 19" that's weird. But if you meet a 20 year old when they're 20, they're an adult. They can make decisions for themselves. Infantilizing 20 year olds and suggesting they can't possibly decide for themselves, that's nuts.

Im at college in China, and my roommate is American, and he probably would have tried that same stuff with me. I'm 27 and started late but I was on a date with a 20 year old. The roommate is 18 and you can tell he was pissed and thought I was a pdf file. He's like, "she is just a kid why don't you date someone your own age". He got very annoyed because whenever he would smoke in the bathroom or stay up til 3 chatting with his gf on school nights, he would always respond with "im an adult, dont treat me like a kid". Got extra pissy when i pointed that out.
