The Ross Albrecht story is far goofier than you are reporting. Dude hired an undercover cop to kill someone. They sent him staged photos to prove the job was complete. He then tried to hire someone else to kill another former associate. When he was told they’d have to kill all 4 people in the house, he was a-okey-dokey with it. It appears this hit man was a scammer, since it never happened. There was a whole network of fed agencies after him. Some of the agents got caught stealing money from the investigation. It’s a whole thing.
