Hey everyone, it's Bonus Dose Day and for those of you who check the "previews" at the beginning of each video to see what bonus video might be next, I promise that the Wedding video will be NEXT week. I decided to move this one up a week because it's a little more timely and fit pretty nicely with the most recent weekend video as well. Enjoy!
A patriotic music festival called "Rock the Country" is making stops at "small towns" (a couple cities with like 300,000 people but WHO'S COUNTING?) across the US this year, promising a good time for "We the People". But one of the headliners is... CANADIAN!? A look at the reactions to Nickelback taking part in an all-American concert series with Kid Rock. Have they betrayed Canada? OR did Canada betray them looooong ago?

Hey. You slandering the good name of Screech? (I'm Australian born but my mother's side is all from eastern Canada and some of my cousins got me onto that stuff when we visited for a family reunion - currently got half a bottle from last time my grandparents brought me back some)

Bottom line F Nickelback for being a horrible band outright. The US doesnt want Nickelback either, so bland just like Drake, keep them Canada!!!!

Oh for sure. I think there were quite a few actual comments on social media about this, but I think it's super lazy when a news site quotes one or two and calls it a day. As for the festival... I don't know. If there's a market for it... some of the towns it's going to truly are towns that would never get concerts like this (maybe for better or worse), some of the towns I looked at have like 3000 people who live there. Then a couple of them have 300,000, so... hardly "small towns", BUT I do appreciate the idea of small towns getting bigger name entertainment (too bad it's Kid Rock). And yeah, my girlfriend has a Dropout subscription, so we watch quite a few things on there (Game Changer, Make Some Noise, Gastronauts, Umm Actually, I've watched an episode of Smartypants because it had Demi in it, should probably watch more...)

My favorite part of the video is the subtle reveal that Buckley may be a Dropout subscriber. 🤔 On the topic of the video though, I think the whole tour/festival is ill-conceived. I don’t quite get the appeal—but then again, I’m not the target audience—but we have a problem with sensational headlines. I saw one about the new pope “slamming” JD Vance on X/Twitter, when all he did was respond to an article and say he was wrong about Catholic doctrine in fairly neutral terms. Quoting one social media post and calling it news is a bit of a stretch when there are much more consequential things going on.
