Hi Patrons!
🕑 Added 2024-08-02 10:45:24 +0000 UTCSo, I'm playing around with the idea of adding a ad-free back catalog to my youtube channel through memberships over there. It's one of the major things people have requested in the past so I'm just trying to figure out how it would work.
However, I don't want anyone here buying a second membership for that but integrating patreon and youtube membership perks isn't really possible.
So just a few possibilities I guess and I'd love to hear your feedback on it before I figure out how to do this.
My current plan is that members on youtube would get access to older videos (updated weekly) with no ads but none of the perks that you guys get here. Would that be a perk you would want included in your patreon subscription or is it not something you would be bothered by?
The easiest ad free perk I could create as an alternative for Patreon is to make the 24 hour early access window ad-free on all new videos.
Alternatively I could start uploading videos for you all straight to patreon, but I think that's a new feature and I'd have to run a few tests before I know for sure that's an option.
Sorry for the slight stream of consciousness post, hopefully it makes sense. Of course none of this is set in stone so all feedback is welcome.

I don't like watching ads at all, but in this case it never bothers me. I'll sit through some ads if it helps you out. If the only perk I get is getting the show 24 hours early, that's totally fine with me. I always see the post and get excited, like regular people have to wait 1 more day, us Patreon people are cool like that. Lol.

Im here to support your work as you grow not really for perks. it wouldn’t bother me what you decide to do and I also agree with Dean. Revenue is revenue.

I honestly like the idea of just having your patreon members receiving early access to new content, and have the old YouTube videos idea stay in the membership for YouTube. That would make more sense, but ultimately, it's up to you good friend.

Keep the ads mate. Revenue is revenue and you’re building a thing. I’ve already got YouTube pro so it’s all “ad free” for me anyway. But I think this early in the channel you want advertising income. Anything over a year sure go ad free as a hook. But otherwise I’d say no.
