Public Code Update: Mortem 0.2.3.1
🕑 Added 2021-08-06 01:38:08 +0000 UTCHello again!
The long-awaited Mortem update for Cottage Living is now available! Your farm animals now have a proper burial process for your household to fully feel their passing instead of just the quick Grim disappearing act. Before, you may have noticed the Medical Examiners coming in to assist in their passing, but those cute animals weren't having any of that and rather had a Household member be the last Sim they see.
The process will now start at death with a death notification of their passing and a suggestion to bury your animal where you would like them to be. As a result, a Death Flower will produce as if you were burying another Sim instead of reporting their death.
If you meet the requirements of being sad enough and a certain level in Gardening, you can Water with Tears the Death Flower that produces after burying the animal; it will help the Sim recover from their grief faster.

CHANGELOG
- Death of livestock animals are now properly handled by Mortem;
- Added a debug interaction to test the death of livestock animals;
- Fixed a bug where foxes would produce Body Bags after dying;
- Fixed compatibility with Cottage Living.

Dogs and Cats are handled differently. The M.E. will come and do his normal thing and then turn them into their normal urn.

How does this mod handle pet deaths? Is it similar to farm animals (I really don't get attached to the farm animals, but my sims' dogs are another story!)?

Could every one please post for support on Discord? It would be helpful in diagnosing everyone's situation.

Yes. I deleted my body in hopes of just moving on after a sim year, and now several examiners are on my property taking notes.

Mariah, is this with the most recent version of Mortem that addresses the farm animals from Cottage Living?

I have this issue, too :( The most recent sim death had the ME standing over the body crying for 2 sim days and my sims wouldn't do anything but witness death the entire time. Everyone was peeing themselves, even the townies that came to witness. One of my fav mods but the amount of time the ME takes is stressful.

Hi. I have a love hate relationship with this particular mod. Most times I overlook the medical examiner taking sometimes 2 sims day to finish their investigation. However after over a year I am trying to figure out is there something wrong in my game or is this a glitch. The examiner checks lots surrounding the dead sim, start to fish, use the computer, etc. I am constantly resetting the examiner and cheating needs of my sims. They also can't leave the lot. I could of posted this over a year ago but figured you guys are super busy giving us all these amazing mods.

I can't wait to test this out once my Sims stops bugging out!
