Your comment about Korean celebrities being "normal" (ie down to earth), really resonated with me. I think I got a taste for it after I started watching kdramas and Korean variety shows in 2014 and would see the celebrities doing their own chores and seeming very normal. Cooking and cleaning. And doing actually hard survival shows. And then when I first started watching BTS content in 2020, I was again amazed at how down to earth the members are. I try to explain to Koreans I know how amazing this is. How refreshing and encouraging. My Korean friends don't seem to think about it much, but I have a lot of respect for so many Korean celebrities who live pretty "normal" lives, or at least they will do manual labor type tasks (carrying things, making things, cleaning, and/or cooking) without complaining. Like you said, not all of them live problem-free lives, but so many of them are really very down to earth and normal.
