Saw some tweets about this on Twitter today. I've been using VSCode for a while and have been curious about learning vim, but after looking at the options I was turned off by the shortcomings of going either direction. Having a separate app that works much like VSCode but where I can play around and practice navigating files and writing code with first class intellisense is exactly what I was looking for. I was looking for that snappy native performance too... I could easily see Onivim 2 becoming my main editor over time.

awesome thank you!

Hi Steven, Just merged a fix for it: https://github.com/onivim/oni2/pull/2786 - the open-vsx changed to use a 302 redirect for the downloads, which we weren't handling correctly. Fix will be in the next nightly build. Thanks for trying it out!

Hi there, I was really excited to get started with Onivim2 but I keep getting an error trying to install any extensions. The error is Oni_Core_NodeTask.TaskFailed. Any ideas what's going on?

Hi Sam, thanks for the words of encouragement! Debugger would be awesome - we have an issue tracking here: https://github.com/onivim/oni2/issues/2437 Unfortunately I don't have a timeline yet for it; there's some things I need to finish first in the near-term - VimL support and some additional language functionality. Essentially pieces of scaffolding we need for it - one important piece is making sure our vim-navigable-UI story is solid so that we can provide a good experience (being able to use the h/j/k/l / window navigation to move across watch, locals, and callstack panes). If it's something that interests you - adding a thumbs-up to that issue will help bump it, resources are always limited so I try my best to work approximately in priority order :) I spend time with the issues sorted like this https://github.com/onivim/oni2/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+sort%3Areactions-%2B1-desc to get a pulse.

Great work Bryan, this has to be the future of text editors/IDEs. Quick question, what's your timeline on debugging integration?

Thanks Larry! Really appreciate the support :)

I just ran across this project today. I have to say I like what I'm seeing! Keep up the great work sir :-)
