I just listened to this for my third time on here. Love your reactions. My boyfriend in my senior year of high school introduced me to this. It was in the summer of 1980. I told him I grew up listening to the Beatles which I did, but for some reason we didn't have this album. I get chills everytime I listen to side 2. It was sad because John Lennon died just 6 months later in December 1980. It was 4 days after my birthday. Paul was my favorite Beatle but they were all special.

I grew up with parents who were big time Beatles fans, and I honestly was not much of a fan because I just didn't want to hear about them. It wasn't that I didn't like them; it was more that I didn't want to follow the hype. But I remember coming home from being out clubbing one night listening to Sgt Pepper's and wondering what it would have been like to experience them in that time. Abbey Road has a feel to it that puts you in that space and time. It is enchanting, especially the medley on the second side.

the long instrumental bit in She's So Heavy reminds me of Kashmir's build
