Saying Stairway to Heaven is overrated is like saying The Beatles are overrated. Something that is absolutely exceptional and unsurpassed simply cannot be overrated. Sorry, no. And I can't believe after 40 years I still hear that tired "it's too commercial" nonsense. Commercial compared to what? Their other recordings that most people don't listen to? I mean duh! Commercial is a good thing, sweetie. Every great song out there is "commercial!" I gotta stop hanging out where people like this chat. It brings out the worst in me.

These conversations (arguments) keep the internet going, but it is an intellectual stupid arguments. If you want to argue one song shows superior musicianship or complexity, you can point to specific examples of such measures, but to say one song is "better" is spurious. It's a fun debate to have, but basically it IS a matter of taste and individual preference and doesn't go anywhere
