Nothing short of an S-tier album. One of my all-time favorite albums. John McVie on bass, and Mick Fleetwood are so driving through the entirety of this beautiful creation. Still fresh after all these years.
As far as the back in black comparison, I was 13 when rumors was released, 16 for back in black. I bought both immediately, love both, they are both fantastic top 10 all time selling albums. While comparing great works of art is somewhat subjective, as someone who lived through the era, the album with the bigger social and cultural impact was the rumours album. It made a bigger impact on music generally and the recording process specifically.
