🔎 What Is It?
Backpacks & Banter is all about making gameplay with families feel real. This mod adds age-specific dialogue, emotional moments, and everyday realism to the school experience. From helping with homework to unpacking school drama, it's about going beyond the “How was your day?” and giving you storytelling options that feel lived in.
Whether your Sim is raising a shy 5th grader, a socially-anxious middle schooler, or a snarky high school senior — this mod adds personality, depth, and realism across the board.
🌟 Why This Mod Is Needed
Let’s be real — The Sims 4 is cute, but when it comes to parent/child communication, it can be shallow. Kids go to school and come back… that’s it. No meaningful moments, no hard convos, no “What happened with your teacher today?”
We’re changing that.
Because in real life? Homework, friend drama, lunchroom chaos, surprise quizzes, project stress, skipped classes, awkward puberty convos — it’s all happening. And in this mod? It will too.
💬 Age-Specific Pie Menus
Every interaction in this mod is divided into Elementary, Middle School, and High School stages.
So, what a parent says to a second grader isn’t the same convo they’ll have with a high schooler who’s over it.

oh gosh if your mod could acknowledge adeepindigo's neurodivergent traits like gifted/autism spectrum etc that would be incredible. i would love convo from a gifted kid about their special interest, about the pressure of expectations, about not wanting to go to school, etc, or asking your ASD child if they want homeschool, or if like their stats in creative/mental/etc or low or high, having different school buffs when they come home like "i didn't understand anything today, i really need help with my homework" or "my teacher failed me for using chatgpt" lol just thoughts!!

This looks amazing, can't wait until it's completed & available. Hopefully in the future you will be able to add a few preschool interactions as well. I know that it's not included in the game, but alot if us use mods to send our toddlers to preschool.
