I have to admit that I started reading Trailer Trash thinking it would be a variaton on Al Steiner's and The NIght Hawk's do over stories.... So I found myself skipping pages here and there to follow the ground floor story line... By the time I got to Ch 39 I decided that I had to start all aver again from the beginning to read the story as it was written because its structure and the imagination involved reflects all the detail that Tabitha's chef d’œuvre will aspire to. Bloody fascinating!! Webtoon'd better be good at what they do!

Elena's concerns over Julia/Julie would surely have been foremost in Sandra;s mind for the dinner? Sandra would have seen no evidence in Tabitha's behaviour that there had been a serious trauma concerning Mr Moore. Plot hole or kinda sorta a step to require Tabitha to tell Sandra her secret?...

One possible arc would be Mrs. Moore basically giving Mr. Moore an ultimatum. Dramatically that would seem to want to be her publicly telling him to "buck up or I'm going to leave you and go live with Tabby", but I'm enough of a traditionalist to think it would work out more realistically to be a private "you need to do your job and lead this family" in conjunction with a unignorable slap in the face delivered by reality. Either way, it would likely lead into a slow and painful learning process for him with a lot of false starts and set backs. That itself could lead to a nice vignette for him "I'm trying [...] I need help, can you help me?"

Had to chuckle at Joe grumbling about Bobby giving away his mint VHS copy of Willow that he was going to "save for his grandkids". I just unearthed my old VCR for my FIL, who refuses to get a Blue-ray or even a DVD player. I dunno if he still thinks they're the next Betamax or LaserDisc or what exactly, but I don't know if that VCR'll still be functional by the time Joe or I have grandkids to watch Willow with, particularly given how folks are delaying or deferring all that... Reasons for which I profoundly understand - being a late-start parent myself.

I like that different perspective and a bit of unreliable narration coming from Bobby. It seems we genuinely get impressions from the information he could get instead of weird omniscience.

I am kind of torn, I actually really want Tabatha to stay with the new family, to take care of their daughter and benefit from such positive adults, aside from just finding it such a better situation in general. I also recognize the pain her parents are in, and that they do love her and we’re horrible but not abusive, and hope that some level of resolution occurs.

Great update. The different viewpoints flesh out characters. If nothing else this is good to see for us and hopefully helps you to get these tidbits added in the future if you decide to scrap this section, but I hope you keep it. You've got a great way with showing the intricacies of people's souls, giving even the most vile of characters (Chloe) humanity. I hope you get to a better place in your life that allows you to enjoy the fruits of your labor that we all appreciate you taking the time to share with us.

I'd have to go back and re-read some other bits, but I think I like how Bobby seems be a slightly different person around his brother than in other contexts. It's something that happens in real life that I don't remember noticing much in fiction.

George Warner

Agreed; Bobby’s impressions show he has some real depth… and it’s good to know Mrs. Moore knows they dropped the ball.

Matt

Thanks for the chapter!

I felt the Mrs Moore scenes were heartbreaking, but good to see that she cares so much for Tabitha. It makes me hope that she and Tabitha will be able to work things out. Though obviously the Applebees scene makes it hard to figure out how that will happen with Mr Moore being so blind.

Donald McLean

Actually, I thought the Mrs Moore fragment was a great stepping stone to her parents stepping up (or completely falling apart, but that would be tragic).

Jimbo1023

I liked the chapter. Scenes that give different perspectives of the current situations. I'm kinda surprised Shannon's pregnancy hasn't come up lately. I feel like that would be a bigger deal with everyone.

I’m curious about when/if anyone will realize that Tabitha isn’t getting the help she needs at the trailer park. When I think about the chapters preceding Lisa’s return it seemed like life was getting better for the Moores and now it looks like Tabby might never recover from her parents inaction

Undead Writer

Thanks for the chapter!! Love seeing the different perspectives!

Scyfe

Loved Bobby's take on it, that everyone was just playing a role. One of the better sections in my opinion

Sean

I really like all the different POVs. Bobby especially since it feels like Tabitha is the mom who set up her kids birthday party and won't let them play until she's staged her kids in 30 different photos. It was also cool to see all the previous stuff with her cousins since it felt like unresolved topics that had no way to be brought up. The Bobby one especially because it lets you know how forced the situation seems. Like Tabitha got knocked around for a lot of the story and now she's in these heavily controlled scenarios because nobody wants stuff to get out of control again. I'm excited for more!

Michael Deans

I was describing these segments to my 17 year old son and I told him it was like someone preparing a good dinner but letting you taste parts of it before the whole thing was ready to be on the table. Thank you for the taste of what's to come

Montugar

Think about it this way: her body and brain chemistry is of a teenager. Stop thinking about it in terms of a 47yo being sent back as-is and more like a 14yo who got access to future memories. The story has also decidedly avoided any sexualization whatsoever so you point about it being pedobait is vapid and unfounded.

Emby

Why the hell is she talking about dating a tween? Someone who's what, forty? Fifty years younger than her? Pedobait bs

Jake

Hey dude, just wanted to say, that right now, all of it is good. Fleshing it all out for us with multiple views is great, even if it covers some of the same info because it fleshes out their persons as well. Mrs. Moore’s feelings of inadequacy and anxiety, Bobby’s switching between clean cut and teenage machismo, it’s all adding layers and details.
