Great chapter. That Bobby scene was just hilarious especially with that teaser cliff and all the high schooler interactions are so captivating and real.

Why do you say that? Do you not agree with Tabitha's current goals and methodology, or were they not clear here in the chapter? I was worried I was beating readers over the head with it so getting a comment like this catches me off guard.

I like the Bobby's view vs. Tabitha's view bit. The fact they have almost nothing in common works well. That said, it's totally possible that girls do bunch up as a result of a self protection instinct, even if they don't realizes that. Guys actually do pose a potential threat girls (at least historically) need to be weary of until they know the guy better. Jordan Peterson (regardless of what you think of his other opinions) has some very interesting things to say about the kinds of social interactions people have dealt with for thousands of years. "with only a small ... electric heater ... the only thing fighting to keep the chill at bay." Probably remove one of the 'only'-s, and maybe either "fighting the chill" or "keeping the chill at bay"... Although I do admit the "fighting to keep at bay" does paint a picture of a losing battle.
