it just feels like twitter isn't the medium for sean. how the fuck are people supposed to know which half of the tweet is a joke and which one is serious? also, the "X is a CIA op" thing makes you sound way more like an insular edgy kid than anyone talking about how america is a blood soaked empire, if you want to talk about political messaging. it's weird seeing tweets like that and then coming to the podcast and getting the measured, intelligent version of sean, and it really makes me think he should just stop posting or something. idk

I can empathize with what Sean is saying here. It reminds me of when Vietnam soldiers would return to America and people would spit on them, and just treat them terribly, when they didn’t have a choice to go in the first place. This reactionary bullshit against ordinary troops instead of the politicians that vote for the wars and the military funding, is the kind of dissonance that is just psychotic.

Now this is interesting, because I feel like trying to capitulate to right wing narratives is why liberals eat shit over and over again. So maybe bernie needs to market himself "better" but I dont think that more nationalistic messaging is necessarily a good idea. My first reaction is just thinking of john kerry and the "we REALLY support the troops" shit
