My True Desire - 2026 Roadmap & Future Plans

In this post, I want to share the updated roadmap for My True Desire for 2026 and talk a bit about my future plans.
I think it’s important to keep the community informed and bring at least some level of predictability, especially for those who support the project financially.
🗺️ What You Should Expect for 2026
First, let’s talk about the overall outlook for the year.
In an ideal scenario, my goal is to release four major updates, meaning four new chapters:
❌ No reworks
❌ No DLCs
❌ No specials
✅ Only main story chapters
I consider this a realistic and achievable target, especially considering that last year we also had four main updates (Feb > May > Aug > Oct), with one of them being a remaster.
⚙️ Technology, Systems & Mechanics
From a technical and mechanics point of view:
📸 Chapter 05 will introduce the gallery
🎨 A UI update will also come with it
🎥 Some future chapters will feature unique mechanics for specific situations
(for example, a POV scene looking through a crack)
Aside from these, I don’t expect to add any system that affects the entire game, with two exceptions:
🔊 Voice implementation (small reactions)
📱 Instachat app
📖 Talking a Bit More About Chapter 05
In the previous roadmap, Chapter 05 was expected to release in January.
In this updated roadmap, I’ve moved it to February/March.
Why the change?
The reason is simple:
👉 Chapter 05 will be the biggest chapter in My True Desire.
Because of that, the production time might be longer than I calculated.
“Might be?”
Yes… To be honest, I'm not totally sure.
To avoid reaching the end of January and having to delay the chapter at the last minute (and consequently delaying everything else), I decided to organize the entire year in advance, minimizing room for errors.
I know many of you are eager for Chapter 05, and this isn’t great news.
I'm really sorry for this.
✅ The Good News
There’s still a chance that Chapter 05 could be released in January.
I’ll work as hard as possible this month to finish it in January or deliver it by the first half of February. I know it’s not ideal to rush art, but honestly, March is out of the question for me.
Some people may ask:
“Why not split the chapter into two, then?”
If the last update hadn’t been a rework, I would probably do that. But unfortunately, in this situation, it wouldn’t be a good idea.
Even though the last major update was released just two months ago, many players feel like we haven’t had relevant new content since Chapter 04.
On top of that, many people chose not to play the rework.
Waiting five months to get half of a chapter would be pretty bad for those players.
🔥 Chapters 06, 07 & 08
I’m being honest here: I don’t have the themes for these chapters fully defined yet.
That said, there’s one thing I’m completely sure about.
These chapters will focus less on heavy storytelling and more on action, if you know what I mean.
I also want to step away from the everyday routine a bit and take the characters into new situations, events, outfits, and different outings.
This will allow for more dynamic scenes, fresh interactions, and experiences we haven’t explored in the story yet.

To wrap things up, I want to thank everyone who is supporting and following the project.
I’ll never stop saying this: without you, none of this would be possible. And know that despite the mistakes I may make along the way, I’m doing my best.
I’ll keep updating the roadmap throughout the year.

Thanks DTZ! Roadmaps are always nice ways to keep yourself on track and give us ideas of what's coming when. I'm really excited for these updates, too. As much as I enjoy some nice story telling, the characters you've given us are way too attractive to not be impatient for the more action packed stuff.
