Voldemort's return and Dumbledore's reluctance to ensure Harry is ready for the fight ahead leads to Sirius taking matters into his own hands.
He can't train Harry himself, not when he's still on the run from a Ministry determined to hunt him down. So he turns to the only person he can trust. His cousin's daughter, the talented and vivacious Nymphadora Tonks.
Meanwhile, two Slytherins, determined to be free of Voldemort and keep their families safe, hatch their own plans... (Harry/Tonks/Daphne/Pansy. Starts during the Summer after the Fourth Year and Hogwarts starts at 14 in this AU.)

Sirius Black had many regrets in life, but as he looked at the battered and bruised face of his asleep godson, he was determined to make sure letting Harry down would not be one of them. Following Dumbledore’s advice, he had taken a hands-off approach the entire year when it came to raising Harry. He’d stayed away, and even when he came back following Harry’s forced entry into the Triwizard Tournament, he’d kept his involvement limited to occasional advice. And what had it gotten them? A maniacal Death Eater impersonating a teacher had lived undetected right under Dumbledore’s nose the entire year and entered Harry into a dangerous tournament. Voldemort had returned and nearly killed his godson. It had been sheer luck that Harry lived to tell the tale. Cedric Diggory had not been so lucky.
Dumbledore talked fantasy even now, but those like him who lived in the real world knew Harry had no chance of having a normal life. That had been ripped away from him the day Voldemort had murdered his parents. Now the megalomaniac was back, and Dumbledore talked about shutting Harry away for the summer with his beastly relatives while the ‘adults’ handled things. What adults?!
Fudge refused to believe them. He highly doubted Dumbledore’s claim of being able to convince Wizengamot of Voldemort’s return. Half the Order was dead and Sirius had no idea if they’d get new recruits. His best friends… gone. One dead, one an outcast, and the last one a cowardly traitor. Red had given her life to protect her son, and he wasn’t about to let that sacrifice be in vain.
They were wasting time when they needed to do everything in their power to prepare Harry as much as possible for the fight that lay ahead. The fact that Dumbledore refused to see it…
Sirius sighed.
He couldn’t do it himself. He was too conspicuous and if Dumbledore wanted to stop him, all he needed to do was tip off the Ministry about his general location.
Then he’d be forced to go on the run again, leaving Harry more alone than ever. That wasn’t an option, no. He’d need someone’s help, someone who was trustworthy and over whom Dumbledore held no power.
Someone who could not only protect and train Harry but also be a much-needed friend.
He didn’t know it yet, but he wouldn’t have to look too far or wait too long to find the perfect person.

Tonks leaned against the lamppost directly opposite the house they were supposed to watch, working on the piece of gum in her mouth while she cased the building in front of her. It was identical to all the others in view, a fact which the Auror trainee found to be incredibly drab and dull.
The only remarkable thing in sight was the handsome man mowing the lawn right across the street, his biceps straining as he pushed the ancient machine across patch after patch of overgrown grass.
When Sirius had told her everything she needed to know about his godson, he had forgotten to mention one very important thing.
He was hot.
Despite the overlap, their paths had never crossed in Hogwarts. Tonks suddenly cursed the fact that she hadn’t had an opportunity to spend more time in the castle with him. He seemed to be exactly her type. Powerful and kind, yet more than capable of pinning her against a wall and fucking her silly.
With nothing better to do, Tonks focused all her attention on Harry Potter’s messy black hair and lean, sculpted body, feeling a strange flutter in her belly as she shamelessly stared at the sweat-drenched shirt clinging to his broad chest.
She watched as Harry trimmed the last patch of overgrown grass left in the lawn before dragging the mower to a small wooden shed. He shoved it inside and shut the door before silently slipping through a gap in the hedges to leave before his Uncle could give him another useless chore.
Tonks knew he was probably going to the empty playground he liked to spend his afternoons in. She was supposed to shadow his every move, but she had more important business to attend to. The Order’s plan of watching Harry from a distance, letting him be miserable all summer made no sense to her.
She much preferred Sirius’ plan.
Time to put it into action, she thought, casually strolling across the street. She circled the house until she reached the back door, unlocking it with a simple Alohomora.
Tonks slipped inside the spotless bungalow. It was just as bland on the inside as it was outside, and Tonks had to prevent herself from rolling her eyes as she looked around at the bare kitchen. It was well-equipped and well-stocked, that much she could see, but it didn’t look like a family kitchen. Everything was too clean, too spotless, too shiny.
Tonks shook her head. She wasn’t there to explore the strange house. She needed to do something, something that was best done before Harry got home.
“Wow. Sirius wasn’t exaggerating. You really are a useless lump of flesh.” Tonks wrinkled her nose in disgust at the sight of Vernon Dursley sprawled on an armchair, his eyes fixed on the television in front of him.
“Huh?” Vernon jerked out of his stupor. He’d been expecting his wife to return from her weekly tea party (hopefully with some of the delicious chocolate pastries made by her gossipy pastry chef friend). But instead of her stood a pink-haired, leather jacket-donning girl with a truly terrifying smile on her face.
As with all things even slightly out of the ordinary, Vernon Dursley’s first instinct was to eject Nymphadora Tonks out of his perfectly respectable house immediately. Ripped jeans? In the Dursley home? He would not abide it!
“Out!” He screeched, picking up the remote and brandishing it in her direction like a weapon. “I don’t know who you are but get out now or I'll call the police!”
“Go ahead. I need to get some practice in. I’ll turn you into a nice, plump pig before you reach the phone,” Tonks said nonchalantly, twirling her wand between her fingers. Sirius had told her everything she needed to know to deal with the Dursleys. She knew they feared magic just as much as they hated it. “My friend Hagrid taught me a neat trick. Want to see it?” Tonks asked, raising an eyebrow threateningly.
Vernon eyed the wand with fearful eyes. “You’re one of them!” he exclaimed hoarsely. “A freak!”
“Oh, Vernon.” Her sweet tone was laced with venom. She’d seen the way they had mistreated Harry. Over the course of summer, all three of them would be paying a heavy price for their nastiness. “I'm the freakiest freak of them all.” She squinted in concentration as she made her body change her nose into that of a pig’s snout and then back to a human nose again.
When she opened her eyes, she couldn’t stop herself from laughing. Vernon, in his hurry to get away from her, had slipped out of his chair and landed flat on his ass, glaring at her from the floor with impotent rage. He was powerless here, and he knew it.
“What do you want?” he asked, whining. He tried to get up, only to give up and retreat behind the armchair for safety when Tonks pointed her wand at him.
“Sirius sent me.” Tonks sighed at the blank look on the man’s face. He probably thought the world revolved around him and didn’t bother to learn the names of those not related or useful to him, she mused, her dislike for the man growing with every passing second. “Harry’s godfather,” Tonks explained, rolling her eyes.
“Him?” Vernon squeaked, his normally ruddy face as pale as a ghost. “The mass murderer?” he whispered, trying to hide behind the recliner. It was a futile effort and parts of his massive body poked out from either side of the armchair.
“Yep. The very same,” Tonks confirmed cheerfully. “And guess what?”
“What?” Vernon asked, his voice full of fear.
Life’s not so fun when you’re the one being bullied, is it? Tonks thought savagely, keeping her wand pointed at Vernon.
“I’m his student.”
“Student?!” Vernon screeched, looking like he was seconds away from passing out.
“Oh, yes. Us freaks with our freaky ways, we have lots of strange customs. Serial killers have students in our world,” Tonks lied, thoroughly enjoying teaching the disgusting, selfish man a lesson. “I’m his. Do you know what my first assignment is?”
“No?”
“You.”
“Me?!” Vernon tried to get up again, only to hastily sit back down when Tonks made sparks emerge from the end of her wand.
“Indeed. You see, he’s concerned you’re not keeping your end of the bargain and treating his godson the way he deserves to be treated. So he’s sent me to keep an eye on you. If you pass-” Tonks shrugged. “If you don’t-” Tonks conjured smoke from her wand, shaping it into a skull. “That’s going to be you, Vernon,” Tonks said gravely.
“I’m treating the frea… the boy well!” Vernon protested, sweating profusely. His face was as red as a tomato and despite the fact that the air conditioning was on at full blast, his shirt was completely drenched.
“What about your wife and son?”
Vernon blinked slowly. “What about them?”
“Are they treating Harry well?”
“Yes, they are!” Vernon exclaimed, ready to admit to just about anything to get the pink-haired menace out of his house.
“Then I’m sure you won’t mind if I stay over on occasion just to make sure.” Tonks tucked her wand into the sleeve of her blouse. Her job was done. She could see that the man was terrified out of his mind. As much as she wanted to, she couldn’t actually hex him for all the abuse he had subjected Harry to. It would be too hard to explain, both to the Ministry and to the Order. Their instructions were to watch Harry from a distance, always making sure the Dursleys weren’t aware of their presence.
She planned to break that rule by staying with Harry and training him whenever it was her turn to be on watch duty. However, until Sirius had converted more Order members to his viewpoint, the lessons would have to stay a secret.
“Stay? Here!?” Vernon croaked. A vein throbbed angrily on his forehead, and the red-faced man looked seconds away from a stroke.
“You won’t even notice I’m here,” Tonks reassured the panicked man with a lie. They’d definitely notice her, especially since she planned to teach them all a lesson for the way they had treated Harry. “I’ll stay in Harry’s room.” Tonks paused, then added, “might pop down for dinner occasionally. Just set out an extra plate, I don’t need anything special.”
While her voice was friendly, her tone and the anger flashing in her eyes made it clear that refusal was not an option. Not unless he wanted to spend the rest of his natural life as a pig.
“I… I’ll have to talk to my wife.”
“I’m sure she won’t mind. Will she mind, Vernon?” Tonks asked, pulling out her wand again.
Vernon shook his head from his position behind the recliner.
“I’m glad we have an understanding,” Tonks said, giving him a cheerful smile that wasn’t reciprocated. “One last thing. I need the keys to your car.”
“Why?” His new car was his pride and joy, and he summoned the last remaining shred of his courage in an effort to keep it safe.
“I’m taking Harry shopping. He’s not going to wear his cousin’s hideous hand-me-downs anymore,” Tonks explained, holding out her free hand. She wiggled her fingers, prompting Vernon to hurry up. “Don’t worry, you’ll have the car back by tonight.”
Vernon fished the keys of his car out of his pocket and tossed them over to Tonks reluctantly. Tonks caught them and pocketed the keys without a second glance.
“Good man. Now, where is Harry’s room?”
“Up the stairs. Second door on the left.”
“Thanks!” Tonks made her way to the stairs, pausing when she climbed up the first step. She slowly turned to face the dazed man, her relaxed demeanor in complete contrast to the terror visible plainly on his face. “One last thing,” she said, her lips curling into a smirk. “When you call the police, a man named Kingsley will answer and record your complaint. Say hi to him for me, will ya?”
After dropping the bombshell that they had infiltrated Muggle police and resistance was truly futile, Tonks waved and continued climbing up the stairs, happily humming her favorite Weird Sisters song.
Now that she had scared Vernon Dursley into agreeing to her plan, there remained only one more person she needed to convince. Perhaps the most important of them all…

If there was one chore Harry hated over all others, it was shopping for Dudley and his gang. They had use of the spare car but Dudley enjoyed getting his mother to ask Harry to make the three-mile journey to the supermarket and back on foot in the blazing summer afternoon. He preferred anything and everything to it, even the back-breaking work of weeding and mowing the lawn. At least that he could do at his own pace, and it didn’t involve a lengthy interrogation about every penny he’d spent.
After explaining to his cousin for the tenth time that the Supermarket had raised the prices of cigarettes and swearing to him he wasn’t being an ungrateful thief, Harry finally dragged his tired and sweaty body up the stairs to his bedroom, desperate for a shower. He slipped into the quiet and dark room, locking the door behind him. Neither his Aunt nor Uncle had yelled for him to give him more work, but he knew the time he had to relax was limited and he planned to make the most of it.
He padded over to Hedwig’s cage, quietly refreshing the water in her bowl. She was fast asleep, undoubtedly tired after her last trip to wherever Sirius was hiding now. He wouldn’t tell him in case their letters were intercepted, and since he was the only one still talking to him, Harry didn’t press the issue.
Hermione and Ron completely abandoning him hurt. He didn’t expect much, but he had hoped they’d at least answer the letters he sent. No such luck.
Pushing his selfish friends out of his mind Harry silently padded over to his bathroom, only to find the door locked when he turned the knob. He strained his ears, his eyes widening at the sound of the faint pattering of water hitting the tiled floor.
His Aunt? Uncle?
No, they’d rather go unwashed for a week than use anything from his room, even the bathroom. It wasn’t Dudley either.
Harry’s hand pushed into the pocket of his jeans and he pulled out his wand, not sure what good it would do him. He’d already performed unauthorized magic twice before, getting off with a warning the first time. He’d only been saved from being expelled the second time around by the personal intervention of the Minister of Magic.
He doubted he’d have any such luck this time. Fudge seemed to hate his guts and the Daily Prophet was running weekly hit pieces, calling him everything from a liar to a dangerous lunatic.
Magic was not an option. He tossed his wand onto his bed and balled his fists, ready to tackle whoever emerged to the floor should they prove to be a danger. He didn’t have to wait long. The door opened within seconds of him adopting a fighting posture. Steam wafted through the open door, filling his room and fogging up his glasses, making it difficult to see just who was standing in his room.
“Hey, Harry,” Tonks said cheerfully, wrapping the towel around her neck.
Harry stared at the person in front of him with wide eyes and an open mouth, too shocked (and far too aroused) to follow through on his original plan and tackle them before they attacked him. He had seen her before, he was certain of it.
In front of him stood a tall, curvy woman with the perfect hourglass-shaped figure, damp bubblegum-pink hair, and a beautiful heart-shaped face. She was also completely naked, without a stitch of clothing covering her wet body. Harry watched a bead of water roll down her shoulder blade, moving across her firm, melon-sized breasts until her stiff pink nipple captured it, arresting its fall.

If the smirk gracing her lovely face was any indication, she instead seemed to enjoy the fact that she was driving him crazy with lust. “What are you?”
He’d meant to ask who she was. And what she was doing in his room. However, watching her pull on ripped, acid-washed jeans that hugged her legs and accentuated her thick ass shut down what little part of his brain that was still functioning normally.
“Getting straight to the point, huh? You don’t waste any time Mr. Potter. Most men at least buy me dinner first,” Tonks teased, pulling her Weird Sisters t-shirt over her head. She hadn’t bothered with a bra or panties, a fact that hadn’t gone unnoticed by Harry.
She was a walking bombshell, and not only did she seem well aware of that fact, but she also seemed to enjoy playing into it.
“I’m a metamorphmagus.” Harry watched with growing amazement as her bright pink hair turned a very particular shade of blonde.
Fuck. How does she know?
“Sirius gets real chatty after a couple of drinks. He told me about your complicated situation with Miss Greengrass,” Tonks said, almost as if she’d read his mind. Her hair changed back to pink but the smirk on her face remained.
“You know my godfather?”
“My mother’s his cousin. She was Andromeda Black before marriage,” Tonks explained, flopping down on his bed with a tired sigh. “He sent me here.”
“Why?” Harry sat down on the chair in front of his desk, relaxing now that he knew Tonks wasn’t a threat. The only person he’d told about Daphne was Sirius and if Tonks knew about her…
Sirius really had sent the flirty witch, but Harry had no idea why.
“To make sure you’re safe-”
“I’m not a child,” Harry scowled, cutting her off. Why did everyone around him insist on treating him like a helpless kid? He didn’t need a babysitter!
“You didn’t let me finish,” Tonks said calmly, looking around the room. So sterile. It was devoid of personality, just like the rest of the house. Although in this case, she was certain it was because the Dursleys had forbidden Harry from decorating it the way he wanted to. “I’m also here to train you.”
“Train me?”
“I’m an Auror trainee myself. I’m actually just one month away from finishing my probation. Sirius thought it would be useful if I were to teach you the skills I picked up in the last two years of my training.”
“You’re an Auror?!” Harry asked, his excitement growing. He knew all about them. Wizards and Witches whose entire job was to defeat and capture people like Voldemort and his followers.
“If I survive this month… yes,” Tonks replied with a proud nod. “Anyways, long story short, Dumbledore wants us to babysit you while the Order deals with You-Know-Who. On the other hand, Sirius wants you to learn, train, and grow stronger. I agree with Sirius, which is why I’m here instead of out there, standing under that stupid lamppost getting baked under the infernal sun.”
“Oh.”
“All Order members have been assigned shifts. We’re supposed to watch you and make sure you’re safe, and that you don’t go anywhere you’re not supposed to.”
“So I really am imprisoned here,” Harry muttered, his dark mood returning.
“If it makes you feel any better, a lot of us think Dumbledore is off his rocker.”
“Thanks.” It didn’t, but he appreciated the effort.
He wanted to ask what the ‘Order’ she talked about was, but instead found himself going off in an entirely different direction.
“Why the shower?” Harry asked, his cheeks turning pink. It had been quite the show she had put on for him, and he could have sworn she had done the entire thing on purpose.
“I just told you. I was standing out there for nearly an hour. I was hot and sticky and a shower felt like a good idea. And it was,” Tonks said with a smirk, leaning back against the headboard of Harry’s bed. She didn’t share that the entire stunt had been completely deliberate on her part, an attempt to build up his confidence and boost his morale before they started their formal training. After all, she had reasoned, there was no better way to lift a young man’s spirits than a flirty and very naked cutie in his bedroom. “You look like you could use one yourself.”
“Yeah.” Harry tugged on his sticky shirt, peeling it away from his warm skin. “I’m gonna go take one.”
“Need any help?” Tonks asked innocently. Her eyes sparkled mischievously as she bit her lip and made an obvious show of staring at the bulge in his pants.
Harry gulped, his cock rock-hard within seconds.
Fucking hell, woman.
“Uh… no. I’m fine, thank you,” Harry mumbled, beating a hasty retreat to the bathroom. He quickly stripped off his clothes and tossed them into the laundry basket before stepping into the shower, trying his best not to think about the sexy woman lounging in his bed as he rubbed one out.

No problem. When I saw the title it threw me for a loop for a second. If you have not read the works, I would suggest it. Sage has 2 long term works. One for Potter, and one for Naruto that crosses over with the x-men verse. Both are very different works. The chapters are long and go into a lot of character development and story progression.
