“Thinking about escaping to another world?” Harry asked softly, shutting the door behind him and locking it. He had no desire for them to be interrupted for the rest of the night. It had been a long and tiring day, and the only thing he wanted now was a chance to spend time with Susan without Mrs. Weasley butting in every few seconds. He had been enraptured by the sweet, quiet Hufflepuff on their very first date. By the end of the week, he wasn’t sure why he’d ever thought of backing out from his agreement with Amelia Bones. He had fallen hard for the quiet, sensitive redhead, much to the amusement of Tonks who had acted as a chaperone for all their dates.
Susan pulled her head free from the small pensieve tucked in the bottom shelf of her new closet and turned to face her husband with a faint blush on her cheeks. Husband. She was still getting used to being Harry Potter’s wife. Three years of an unnoticed crush and pining for him from afar, and here she was, kneeling on the rug in his bedroom, legally bound to him for the rest of their lives.

“I’m not hungry,” Susan lied. In truth, despite the rumbling of her stomach, she was far too nervous to eat. It had been a busy day. She had been up since the crack of dawn to get ready for the quick shotgun wedding in a tiny chapel nestled away in the hills behind Godric’s Hollow. There had been no reception and after a tearful goodbye with the only family she had left (it had been the first time she had seen her auntie cry) Sirius and Harry had whisked her away to her new home.
Where the welcome had been… less than pleasant. Between Sirius’ mother calling her a blood traitor and Mrs. Weasley coldly kicking her out of the kitchen before she could so much as make a cup of tea for her new husband, married life had been nothing like what she had imagined.
“Liar,” Harry teased lightly as her stomach chose that very moment to grumble in protest. “We were in your aunt’s office all afternoon going over and signing the agreement. Then we had our…” Harry coughed awkwardly. The self-transformation over the past year that Sirius had inspired hadn’t extended to romantic entanglements. Those, he still had no experience with. “Wedding,” he murmured, his cheeks warm. “You haven’t eaten anything all day.”
Susan nodded shyly, embarrassed that he had so easily caught her lie. She slowly got to her feet, her heavy breasts swaying gently underneath her thin linen gown. Harry tried his best to be discreet but there was no hiding his stare, and Susan ducked her head to hide her blush behind her hair.
“I wasn’t going to eat without my wife, so I brought both our dinners up here.”

There’s no use denying it, she reminded herself. He was making no effort to hide his heated gaze. He was a wolf, and she was the poor bunny he planned to devour tonight.
She wasn’t scared. She knew the stories, she knew what to expect. And she was a Bones. Love and Honor, that was their family motto. If Harry was to be her husband, she would love him and honor his wishes.

“There’s only one chair,” Susan deflected, not unwilling to let him have a window into her insane inner ramblings.
Harry chuckled and sat down on the chair, then patted his thighs.
Susan blushed and dithered for just a second before sitting down on his lap, her body stiff and tense.
“Relax,” Harry murmured, pushing aside the plate that covered the food he had brought up to what was now their bedroom. “I’m not going to do what you think I’m going to do,” he murmured, tearing a bread roll in half and holding out one piece for her.
“I’m sorry,” Susan squeaked, holding the piece of bread with trembling fingers.
“For what?”
“Jumping to conclusions,” Susan murmured, her heart jumping into her throat as Harry’s free arm snaked around her waist and pulled her flush against his firm chest. “It’s just, I’ve heard stories…” She hadn’t discussed it during their dates, too shy to talk about it in the presence of their playful chaperone. But she had grabbed every book on the subject she could get her hands on, desperate to ensure Harry didn’t think of her as a clueless virgin (which she was) on their wedding night. At least she knew the basics of everything she’d heard he liked, even if she had no idea how bondage or submission or masochism worked in real life. “Have you now?” Harry groaned. One thing led to another and before I knew it, we were naked, cuddling, and arguing who has the better ass, me or Zabini,” Harry explained, holding out a fry for her. He waited for her to get close before tossing it in his own mouth. He winked at her and began chewing.
“So you weren’t dating them?” Susan asked, relaxing in his arms. Despite all the changes, he was still the same sweet, kind man she had fallen for in their second year. The newly found confidence was just a very sexy bonus. “What about your relatives? You have an aunt and uncle, right?” Sirius had mentioned them in passing in the chapel, but they hadn’t attended the wedding. But then, she supposed the logistics of getting Muggles to a magical chapel unnoticed wasn't exactly easy. The last thing they needed was for Rita Skeeter and the Daily Prophet to catch wind of the deal between Harry and her auntie before his trial.
Harry’s mood darkened for a second before he brushed her question off with a chuckle. “Let’s just say they were too focused on their own son to teach me things,” he murmured, kissing her head.

“But I never fucked them when they were hungry or scared. If I can extend that basic courtesy to my friends, I sure as hell can do it for my wife,” Harry murmured, chuckling as Susan timidly snatched a french fry from his fingers.
“I’m not,” Susan declared, pretending to be braver than she felt. It wasn’t like her auntie had sold her off to some faceless Pureblood for a political alliance. Susan knew why she had insisted on Harry marrying her, even if the speed and conditions of the deal were more than a little jarring.
“Pretty girl, if you keep lying to me I’ll have to throw you over my knee and slipper you before bed,” Harry whispered, picking up a glass of water and casually taking a sip. “I’ve heard bedtime spankings are a tradition in Pureblood marriages. Tonks gave me a very inappropriate crash course on what to expect after we get married.”

I want that happiness and you’ve mentioned you want it too.”
“I’ve loved to play house since I was a child. Being a healer, a wife… having my own family, that’s all I’ve ever wanted,” Susan whispered. “I know it’s not the most glamorous career or even something important-”
“It’s valid,” Harry said softly, cutting her off. “All dreams are valid. I once ran into a mirror in Hogwarts that showed people their heart’s deepest desires. I saw my parents.”
Susan blinked. “Of course you did, what else would you have seen?”
“You know, for the longest time I used to think I saw them because I wanted them back,” Harry murmured, kissing her shoulder. “But I don’t just want them. I want what they represent. A family. That’s what I want.”
“I can give you a family.” Her cheeks were bright red and her voice was barely audible.
“Good girl.” Harry kissed her shoulder.
“I’m scared,” Susan whispered.
“Susan, I’d be worried if you weren’t.”
“No.” She squirmed in his lap. “I’m scared I won’t be good enough for you. Lavender and Parvati are perfect and today was the first time I kissed someone. I certainly am not going to compare you to anyone else,” Harry said softly, making a mental note to push Justin Finch-Fletchley’s pompous ass off a cliff and into the lake the first chance he got. He watched her rummage around in a drawer before she turned and held up a thin black choker for him to see. “That’s the collar I got for Parvati as a gag gift. Everyone was gifting their dates to Yule corsages and she dared me to be different,” Harry said, frowning.

Harry plucked the band of leather from her fingers and gently fixed it around her neck. He had come a long way from the tall, lanky boy she had tended to in the Hospital Wing during their second year.

“It was long ago and they don’t hurt anymore,” was all Harry would say. There was no use dwelling in the past and what had happened. He had no desire to focus on what could have been, not when he had his whole life in front of him.
Susan wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her face in his back, gently tracing each and every one of his scars with her lips. “I’m going to make everything better,” she promised to herself. She kept peppering his skin with kisses, gently caressing every scar she could spot.
“You already are,” Harry whispered, shivering gently in her arms. He raised his hands to let her circle around him once more. Susan kept kissing his scars, determined to commit all of them to her memory. In sickness and in health, she reminded herself. His pain would be her pain. She wouldn’t let him shoulder the weight of the world alone. Not anymore.
“What about this one?” Susan asked, studying an angry red gash on his upper arm that had been covered by his shirt.
“My cousin’s an idiot.” Harry snorted. He had long ago stopped expecting decency from Vernon or Dudley, and nothing they did surprised him anymore. “It’s fine. I’ve had worse and it doesn’t really hurt.”
“Sit on the bed,” Susan ordered.
“Susie, I promise it’s fine-”
“Sit!” Susan glared at him through tear-filled eyes until he sighed and pulled away. He padded over to the bed and flopped on it with a sigh.
“You’re sexy when you’re bossy,” he teased, watching her rummage around in her cupboard once more.
“This isn’t the first time I’ve nursed you back to health, Harry Potter, and I fear it won’t be the last,” Susan muttered, carrying her box of healing supplies over to him.
“You intern with Madame Pomfrey in your free time, don’t you?”
Susan nodded. “I first started crushing on you in the Hospital Wing,” she admitted shyly. “The night you stayed over and I had to take care of you because Madame Pomfrey was so overworked.”
“You fed me Skele-Gro every hour without fail. Merlin, Lockhart was a moron.” Harry groaned at the memory. He hissed as she dabbed Dittany on his wound before gently covering it up with a bandage.
“You are going to let me change this every day till it heals.”
“Yes ma’am.” Harry grinned. He let her pack away her supplies before grabbing her wrist and pulling her onto his lap without warning.
She squealed as she was thrown over his knees, kicking her legs helplessly.
Harry carefully set her box on the floor before summoning the hairbrush that had been Sirius’ wedding gift to them. It was a heavy, ornate thing made of polished wood with a black diamond set into its hilt. It was a Black family heirloom, his godfather had informed him with a barely concealed smirk.
“Harry!”
“Do you know the traffic light system?” Harry asked, his voice crisp and stern. He could feel her relax on his lap and knew his trick to distract her from his scars was working.
Susan shook her head, her red curls flying free from the bun she had secured them in and whipping around. “Can you teach me?”
“Say ‘red’ if you need me to stop. ‘Yellow’ if you need me to slow down. ‘Green’ if I’ve stopped but you are okay with me continuing,” Harry explained, gently pushing her thin gown up to her hips. “Understood?” Harry asked, his gaze fixed on her perfect ass.

“Oh, yeah. We are supposed to do that, aren’t we?” Harry chuckled and pulled her into his lap.
Susan groaned quietly but nuzzled into him, resting her head on his chest. She closed her eyes and concentrated on the steady thumping of her heartbeat.
“I want our first time to be something we never forget. Not something we arse our way through after a tiring day. Do you mind waiting until we settle down into our new lives?” Harry asked, wrapping his arms around her. He had no intention of sleeping with her until she was fully comfortable with him.
Susan shook her head.
Harry kissed her forehead and pulled them both up on the bed. He turned to let her sleep on the bed, but she clung to him, refusing to move. She curled up on top of him, yawning cutely as he pulled a blanket to cover them.
Sleep came quickly and for the first time all summer, Harry dreamed of pale green eyes and adorable smiles instead of death and blood-curling laughter.

“Good morning!” Susan said cheerfully as she limped into the kitchen. If she could legally never be Susan Potter, it only felt right to wear a piece of clothing with her husband's name emblazoned on the back.
“Mornin,” Tonks murmured, picking up her cup of tepid black coffee for a sip.
“What’s gotten into you, shortie?” Sirius asked, ruffling the Daily Prophet. He skipped past all the bullshit on the front pages and went straight to the back, where all the unexplained attacks and disappearances were crammed into small paragraphs. They were scarce on details but while he was trapped in the house, it was the best information he could get on the state of the war.
“Your godson, that’s what,” Tonks mumbled, yawning lazily. “I doubt you’d know, but good dick can do wonders for a girl’s confidence.”
“I’ll brew up some fresh coffee for you,” Susan squeaked. Her cheeks were bright red as she grabbed the mug from a chuckling Tonks. She whirled around with a quiet, “ow”, and slowly limped into the empty kitchen.
“I wouldn’t know?” Sirius hissed.
“I mean, you look like you’re out of practice old man. When was the last time you made a girl limp like that?” Tonks asked with a smirk. She leaned back in her chair and watched Susan happily bustle around the kitchen.
“You’re insufferable, Nymphadora,” Sirius groused. “If you must know, there was a time I used to date Marlene McKinnon.”
“The lead singer for the Weird Sisters?” Tonks asked with wide eyes. “No. Way.”
“Did someone say the Weird Sisters?” Susan asked. “Do you mind if I put on some music?”
“Please. A graveyard is more cheerful than meal times in this house,” Tonks said with a snort. “I have to confess, the new redhead in that kitchen is a massive improvement over the previous one,” she whispered to Sirius. Tonks wondered how Molly would react when she saw all her depressing rules being broken by Harry’s new bride.
Susan switched on the neglected radio in the kitchen, fiddling with the dials till she hit a station playing, ‘I Used to Love a Man’.
“I love Marlene McKinnon,” Susan said cheerfully as she cracked eggs in a glass bowl.
“Apparently, so does Sirius,” Tonks teased.
“Shut up,” Sirius groused, but he had a massive smile on his face.
Notes:
I plan to explore Harry and Susan's seven days of courtship and things that happened in that week and tie it to specific events through flashbacks starting from Chapters 3 and 4 which will be out on the 5th! So, for example, there'll be a flashback of everyone's reaction to the news and it will tie into Susan asserting her right to take care of Harry to Mrs. Weasley. There will be no bashing (I don't do it in any of my stories), but I won't shy away from exploring real flaws of characters because making everyone perfect makes a story boring.

Daphne is still very much going to be a brat lol. There's basically no other way for me to write her in my head. I have like... fixed points for all characters? Stuff that doesn't vary in my stories. Daphne bring a brat is one of them lol.

The twins be close to Harry, yes. Ron is a friend, Harry accepts his apology but he also takes Sirius' advice to have more friends to heart. Hence his friendships with the Twins, Neville, Parvati, Lavender, and Susan. So Ron isn't as close to Harry as he was, mostly cause Harry spends time with other people and has an expanded social circle post the whole transformation that Sirius helped him achieve.

I know you said in the last chapters comments you weren’t gonna go bdsm as much in this story. With Susan as a Princess I would be interested to see how you write Daphne without her being a brat/princess. Or if she will finally not have a tragic background 😂 I think Hermione as a sub to Harry fits due to her characteristics and controlling attitude a lot of the time, wanting to give up control to the person she trusts more than anyone in the world makes sense.

How close are Harry and Ron? This seems like a different Harry and one who would not put up with Ron’s fair weather friendship and jealousy… especially with Susan now his wife and the other two eventual tags. Is he just someone that’s there that doesn’t really have a role in this story? I love the way you write the twins so I’m assuming they’re still close with Harry.

Yep! She is a true Hufflepuff, and like a honey badger, she has a hidden side to her that comes out when people she loves are in danger. The next chapter is going to be awesome!

I think Susan does it before Sirius even has a chance to step in. She is a true Hufflepuff, and sure she is quiet and shy, but she is going to be incredibly loyal and caring to the man who has shown her such affection and attention. At the end of the day, she isn't going to let someone else tell her what she can and can't do to take care of her own husband.

I do hope Molly stops with her usual overbearing attitude and that she realizes this isn’t her house. Sirius shouldn’t be afraid to kick her out if she is disrespecting Harry’s wife. I hate how she walks all over people and gets nothing more than a stern talking to with no consequences.

I’m really enjoying how you’ve written Susan. She’s a sweet little thing, but has some fire in her. Those women do absolute wonders for the soul. I’m really looking forward to the next chapter and how Susan and Harry grow closer.
