The lead investigator fumbles the crime scene, ignoring vital clues and eventually focusing exclusively on one primary suspect. A judge ultimately dismissed the case, condemning the police work as problematic from the start. Justice seemed out of reach - until an amateur detective set up a Myspace tribute page and hit the streets herself to track down the real suspect.
